German Battleship Bismarck 1941 1/700 kit including wood deck, 600 PE parts and brass gun barrels

Sprocko I admire your cojones going on stage with this, the maritime equivalent of building a Tiger 1 with all the background noise that typically provokes…but others really are offering constructive crits so ride the waves bro, grace under pressure. I also admire that you (a) referenced the Stranglers – on (your) ship, tied to the mast, never a frown, with etc. (b) use hi-tech clothes pegs (c) at 1:700 scale…wow :+1: :+1:

Thanks for dropping by Gents. Appreciate the comments. So the Stranglers quotes may go on, particularly here with a “Stick my fingers right up your nose” from I love kit, and their mistakes in the instructions, here E4 is a bridge roof.

yet the black and whites tell me E4 is a gun turret. “Confused? you will be…”

moving along with the plastic kit parts of the admirals bridge, getting them on firmly and square is a priority, the eye watering amount of PE parts for this will come later.

Funnel basic parts, scraping of the texture detail so the pe deck fits flush

the inside matrix has to be cut out and the PE one inserted

test fitting the funnel to the deck first, I need to know this will go on with no issues.

Looking really nice so far … Cant imagine that scale is easy to work in either … great job.

Cheers Johnny, I’m starting to question my sanity working pe this tiny, I’m finding the smaller parts hard to control, using a cocktail stick with a tiny blob of blutac to just pick them up.

starting work on the aftbridge, there is an incredible amount of pe to go on here so I want it’s base tightly secured on the deck, when it’s ready.

painfully slowly, the shipyard assemble the after bridge structure. 1. is where some deck storage boxs will go. 2. gap under side wall to be squeezed out, 3.bent ladder to be straightened.

these are the PE deck storage boxs to go on.

little bit more time on the Bismarck as my other German project is soaking up my spare time at the moment, we have a minor freeze on in the UK, so it’s tempting to sit and bend some tiny PE instead of handling cold steel in the workshop.

Freezing today, so it’s a pure pleasure to get some time on the model. This complex platform needs complex bending.

the platform and it’s support structure are seperate parts.

I’m showing a close up and all the faults to be fixed here.

the secondary armament now, the guns have pe canvas frames around each trunnion, bent to 90’ then adhered and pushed flush against the front of the turret

the small pieces of dust between the turrets are pe details for the front faces of each turret.

Aircraft lifing crane on the Starboard side, nearly there with it, just a couple of spindles to fit top and bottom of the pe sprockets.
