Do it at 1/700 and size shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to convert several thousand tiny PE Navy personnel into orcs and cavalrymen?
Further to my last, in the absence of a suitably sized rubber duck I am inclined to re-scale the tugboat as a large radio-controlled model towing a punt in which a couple (or throuple) are engaged in vigorous intimacy (as celebrated in verse ). If a fully static model (i.e. without any motorised moving components) will suffice I should have the parts in hand by the New Year.
While I have this in the stash
if alongside towing is permissible I would be more inclined to go with something like this
With regard to oxen pushing a yoke I previously believed this was more of a pull until the development of the horse-collar allowed equids (with their narrower, hornless, skulls) to exert a greater tractive effort. The horse-collar (locally known as a Braffin) is also used in a competition known as Gurning:
Please note that despite a passing resemblance I am not the individual in the photograph as I have been banned sine die from the contest as my features bestow an unfair advantage over the other competitors…

There was a young man of Uppingham
who stood on the bridge at Buckingham,
watching the stunts
of the c---- in the punts
and the tricks of the p----- wot wuz f------ 'em.
Alongside towing is fine, the method of connecting the components is still within the rules.
Interesting concept .
I have a question!
I have already started on a M1097 & M101 trailer a long time ago, did some assembling of bodywork and tarp (the grey bits), so wanted to know if it is allowed to join with this (and get’r dunn!). Oh yeah, scratchbuilt a roofrack.
The idea is to make something like this:
But with this

Kits used:
Hi Ron. It is a bit hard to tell how far all that has progressed, but it looks more than 20% assembled. That was my benchmark. If your build is less than 20%, then of course it woul$ be acceptable. Cheers
Shame. I’ll just have to rethink my options then.
Foul creatures!
I never thought about how a YT-1300 transports freight. Would the container not be held between the “mandibles”?
That is certainly a possibility; I haven’t seen the “Solo” movie but there is a module in that location:
The Modelling News: Preview: Bandai’s new Millennium Falcon (Lando Calrissian Version) in 1/144th scale
However, I understand that is part of the “customisation” process after the Falcon ceases to be a standard tug. Given the analogy of the size of current tugs pushing rafts of barges the Falcon should be capable of pushing much larger containers, or even a “train” of them. The offset cockpit is a design feature so the pilot can see past such a bulky load, and the pads on the end of the mandibles are how it is (somehow) attached.

So nobody in the Star Wars franchise really tought about that?
Thanks @michaelsatin for making this live…
Would a tank towing a toy count for this campagin??
Cut plastic was promised… And not only cut … But some was glued as well …
The cab chassis.
Went together nice and easy … That was part 1… Only another 26 steps … And there’s a lot of plastic to make the cab …
And I will be trying to fix the lack of engine and looking through the body … And possibly some added detailing from many many reference images I have…
More chassis work and it’s sub assemblies…
And put together…
Some of these parts are super fragile and brittle … The locking arms for the battery boxes were crazy …I broke 3 just looking at them… The broken parts were attached once the main bit was fitted, much simpler that way.
Luckily, I was WFH today so spent a bit of time going though the ref book on this and all the images I got sent.
Now you can easily just build this OOB, and have done with it, and it will look pretty impressive… But looking at the images, all over the tractor unit, there are just a biblical amount of cables, electrical, hydraulic pipes etc …from battery boxes, master switch box, hydraulic boxes, winch controls etc etc …
And on the kit …there is nothing … All you will have is open areas that would be filled with pipes/cables - IMO, that won’t do the build or kit justice as those open empty areas will look wrong …
So yeah… There is going to be a lot of pipes and cabling in my future lol…
I had a further in depth look at this foolhardy idea to knock out the cabling and pipework etc … Wow … I think I may have *ucked up lol … There is soooooooo much of it that is going to have to be added …
And add to that, the winch cables and winch block …
Joking aside … I am looking forward to doing it as once it is done and you see it how it should look… I think it will take it to the next level for detailing …and adding nice splashes of colour like on the yellow topped master cylinders and red handles on the winch controls …
None ( not many) of the above would be possible to ref without the big amount images I was sent showing everything in close up… Even the Scammell Commander ref book doesn’t show as much close up detail…
And I’m now glad I got those various gauges of wire a while ago… Will be very handy …
Down the rabbit hole again John!
