Gothic Serpents Black hawk question

I am wanting to build a black hawk from Gothic Serpent. Specifically Durants Super 64.

My understanding is that the Mogadishu birds were MH-60L with some modifications, like no refueling probe, and the doors removed when flying over the city, but I am not an expert on all of the modifications.

I see ICM makes two MH-60L kits for the 160th SOAR. Kit number 48360 (https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/0/5/9/1522059-26-instructions.pdf) is a standard SOAR MH-60L, kit number 48363 (https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/7/6/9/1592769-80-instructions.pdf) is labeled as a Black Hawk Down MH-60L

The rub. Kit 48363 is twice the price of 48360! Am I correct in assuming I could use 48360 to do a Gothic Serpent MH-60L by just omitting the refueling probe, doors, and doing some minor modifications? Or would it require more extensive changes.

I really want to do a Gothic serpent black hawk; but not at the $120 asking price for the Black hawk down version. Is this just price gouging due to the fame of the movie?

There are two new sprues (K and L) in the Blackhawk Down kit that aren’t in the other kit.

The kit is only a little more than the first kit at most places. If you’re seeing $120 being asked for the Gothic Serpent kit, look elsewhere because It’s only $75 at Scalehobbyist.

I was already ordering from SprueBros and got tunnel vision lol… thanks for the reminder that other store exist, AHHQ has it for $70 and Scale hobbyist for $75

Will definitively just order the correct Gothic Serpent one. Cheers

As an aside, Sprue Brothers prices are always beatable. The one time they weren’t was when they were dumping MiniArt kits at %0% off.

Yeah I agree, I generally order from Scale Hobbyist or Andy. This time Sprue Bros was the only game in town for some 3D decals I needed for a Voodo, and since I wanted to add a kit too to ease the shipping cost, I thought about the Blackhawk
