Gun truck ponderings

Morning all, last night during my normal, can’t get to sleep time, I got to wondering about how things were configured on guntrucks? Firstly, how and where was the power source located to run the miniguns used on some trucks, and also, how was communication rigged up between the driver and the gun crew, mainly on the apc and dump truck versions where the cab was less accessable to the rear area? In most pictures I’ve seen the radios were in the rear, so did they have a speaker or intercom wired up for the driver and where would the wires have been routed? I know, weird things to to be thinking about on a sleepless night, but then I’ve never been accused of being normal. Anyway, any thoughts? Wayne

I don’t know about Vietnam-era guntrucks, but in Iraq, some had full intercom systems mounted so the crew could talk using CVCs and/or headsets. I haven’t seen any on Vietnam ones, but maybe the APC version kept their Intercom system?
