Have you been naughty or nice? Santa's haul

No kits, but that’s okay. I definitely need to build and finish a few of the kits I already have before getting any new kits. A New Year’s resolution of sorts.

My daughter did get an elaborate Lego Japanese garden set which she is building right now.

Any guitarists here? I did get an Amazon gift card. I already ordered two inexpensive Chinese guitar pedals, one a Tube Screamer copy, the other a fuzz which copies some circuit certainly, but what exactly, I don’t know. I could figure it out, but if it’s SMD, that’s often a pain to trace out a schematic.

The fuzz has a switch for Silicon and Germanium. I don’t know if this switches transistors or more likely, clipping diodes. That will be easy for me to determine though.

Maybe I will try to interest my son to build that goofball L/100 Panther F.

@ John (Jonnych01),
I like that! We shall borrow it as a mantra for 2024…

I’m a guitarist but I’m not real fluent in pedals TBH. That’s great however and I hope they work well for you!

This is embarrassing, but I don’t know how many I have.

Like most, I have a lot of interests and it’s sometimes difficult to divide my time between these hobbies. Which isn’t really a problem, but you know what I mean.

But I have a steel wheel Panther F I started and four Amusing Hobby Panther IIs and the aforementioned L/100 Panther F plus others waiting.

I was going to buy a Tamiya Somua, but then thought, at least finish the Panther F before buying another kit.

No knowledge of pedals but have two guitars - my Guild D 35 bought new in 1973 so 50 years old now and my Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins bought a couple of years ago along with a Fender Princeton amp in tweed .
No kits from Santa but a HUGE gift certificate to Scale Hobbyist from my daughter and her
husband .
I think I’m set in the spending on modeling department for a long time…
Hope all had a Merry Christmas.

My partner bought me this.

Will keep me busy for a while I think. I bought her an archery set (if I disappear from here you know I’ve upset her) and a Welsh gold charm, or copper as we call it in England.

Also got a couple of books, some collectable Star Wars coins, chocolate, biscuits and series 2 of Strange New Worlds from my parents. Lots of bottles of beer from work friends. So I’m all set for nibbles and booze this Christmas.

That lorry is an excellent kit! (I built it for T-L if you want to see my take on it over there…)

Nothing special, it’s a low end starter bow that came with a target. Decent steel tipped arrows with it. We’ve done a bit of archery in the past and enjoyed it. It’s just something she can shoot in the garden. If she sticks with it, we can look at something more professional and see if there are local clubs.

@barkingdigger that would be great thanks. I’m currently going through the sprues and instructions. Looks like most of the hard work is in the chassis so it would be helpful to see how you tackled it. If it goes together well I might look at getting the bus.

Nobody I know would attempt to get me anything model related. Usually everything is gun related these days anyway. However, at the SFMC Christmas party I scored this at the while elephant gift exchange. My first gift, a statue of a Sioux Warrior called End ot the Trail, was stolen from me. So my wife chose this one, which was promptly stolen from me. Her final pick ended up being a bottle of wine. In the meantime, this was stolen from the person who stole it from me, and given back to me at end of the exchange. Wife of one of the SF brothers was pissed that it went to a non clubmember, and non SF guy.

As if this weren’t nice enough, it turns out it’s part of a special reserve - only twenty five bottles with this engraved on them:
