HMCS Agassiz 1941

Thanks Jan,

The quality of the kit has to take most of the credit. The resin castings for the hull and main superstructure components fitted perfectly. the quality of the vast number of 3d printed parts is very good, and the instructions are clear and well ordered. It is a real pleasure to build. I will be working another varient into the budget next year.

If you do go for one, I don’t think you will be dissapointed.

Cheers
Si

The rigging is finaly all fitted.Using the rigging diagrams in the ATOTS book on HMS Agassiz, a bit on the complicated side for such a small ship,

The rigging all painted and the pennant number decals added, the Ensign can be hoisted as below. Another one commissioned.

A few detail shots.

This was one of the most enjoyable builds I have done, the fit of all the larger components is spot on, the large number of 3d printed parts was a little daunting at first, the instructions are very clear. Great job Ben.

On paper the Black cat Flowers may seem a bit pricey, all the parts, fine detail and the model making pleasure, I reckon they are well worth the price. I am working on finding the cash for another one.

Cheers

Si, that is one beautiful build! Agassiz has been on my future build list since I picked up the AOTS book years ago, and after enjoying your work on this one I may pick up the Black Cat kit.

Don’t forget to show us the base too when you get to it!

Thanks Tim,

I doubt I will get started on the base till after the holiday season, but I will post the updates when I start on it. I did put a lookout in crows nest and a couple of figures on the bridge to be ready, I will add a few more whan I ger her on the base. If you go for the black kit, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed this one.

Cheers, Si

Another superb addition to the RedDuster fleet, Si

Thanks Rus,

The kit has to take some of the credit, it was such an ejoyable build too. Ben’s instructions were excellent too.

After the Christmas season I intend to build a sea base for her. Will posts some pics as that happens.
