Hobby Boss shares built-up photos of its recent 1/35 kit release.
A good project for the IDF campaigns!!
Hobby Boss? Not a fan. That’s like your Dad saying he bought you a new car and coming home with a Yugo. Hopefully RFM or Meng will do one.
The 3D of this vehicle looks promising. But maybe you’re right…I can wait for a Meng/RFM/Takom version. Besides, I have more than enough in the stash to keep me occupied.
Not a production version as discussed here:
Picky, picky, picky…what’s wrong with Hobby Boss…? I’ve built many HB kits with only a few nits and pics here and there…ah well, to each his own I guess. Also, sometimes, Meng and Takom get “parts crazy”, with far too many tiny parts that you’ll never see.
That reminds me the old joke “Friends don’t let friends drive Yugo.”
I did work for hobbyboss before their restructuring and it was the typical exchange deal kits for data and pics and copies of the original kit made from my research. When their merk MkIV came out somehow I got the blame for their screw up even though I had sent them the images of the same suspension system in detail. A certain person told them it was my fault and spread the rumor far and wide. All the while all that person was doing work for a certain other Chinese company with an m to start with it his name also starts with an m and has an m for a second name so I’ll leave it at that happy boss stopped at answering my emails and when their new people got in touch with me they told me forget about it we’re not giving you anything that we owe you. So I went to AFV clup and proved myself
An Eitan in 1/35! I’m just happy!
As usual, I’ll wait to see reviews online, and/or builds at a contest. I’ve never built an HB kit (not because of a reputation, or lack of). It’s due to not having a kit that attracts my modeling funny bone.
Sounds like you had massive problems there, Robert, but are better off where you are now.
As for the HB kit, aside from the obvious inaccuracies, I’m sure it’ll build into a fair representation of a prototype Eitan.
There are numerous issues with Hobby Boss offerings, especially on the aircraft side. I am becoming aware of same on the armor side. Seems like tolerance is required with HB kits with the hope the errors can be easily fixed.
Oh man, that’s putting it way too politely!
Found this in my News feed this morning
MSRP is $110 US for the Eitan.
So, figure, $80 - $100 in the shop? For a Hobby Loss kit? That’s just insulting. They’ve lost their minds.
We won’t be seeing them unless we buy them from the states cause the Suez canal being blocked by the Houties they’re driving shipping prices up higher then they were buy 200% in many cases…
Just saying
