Construction is wrapped!
Started pressure washing to rinse the mud, dirt and dust out of the garage and hobbyroom that accumulated.
Drama Time 
And of course, I derailed everything by face planting coming down the stairs in the the house garage. So the hobby transition is delayed due by my sprained ankle.
Such are the rewards of world 
class clumsy.
Anyway, discovered two of the stair steps were to code (7.5 inch steps) and one was a 9.75 inch step not to code. The steps also had a 1.5 inch pitch downward for the 3 steps ie not level.
Wife said she’d almost fallen down them several times too.
So the last item for the contractor, adding new set of custom box steps for the house garage. He was kind enough to take care of the issue. So now we have 4 steps to code with a hand hold that are level. Probably the best and most important change for the whole project.
The old stairs were reused as deck stairs after they were shortened to code on the offside of the deck which previously didn’t have an entrance on that side.
Probably not the most interesting thing but part of the record.
Construction take aways:

We lost about six weeks due to excessive rain

The heavy rain resulted in making improvements to the drainage. We added an extra drainage pipes, a swell and drain grate plus poured the concrete with more taper for improved run off than originally planned.

I didn’t ask for an outside faucet on the back of the garage and should have. Originally, there wasn’t going to be a rear apron but that turned out to be one of the best additions to the project as that apron is 90% shaded all day. This apron will be my primary airbrushing area due to the natural lighting instead of the hobbyroom.

I missed adding a light switch at the new door into the old garage so you could turn on the lights in the old garage. Added two nightlights so you can see but that’s a band aid. I’ll have a new switch added later.

project creep - added insulation, interior OSB, attic fan, more ventilation, extra ventilation fan, more lighting in hobbyroom, added rear apron, side apron, added drainage, extra garagedoor remotes, thickened pad for lift in one corner etc.

I’m very happy with the outcome. Kali-Kat hasn’t warmed up to the idea of the new hobbyroom yet. I think paint, floor covering, a new cat tree and her own liter pan and water bowl will probably smooth that over.

Wife and her bestie offered to paint the hobbyroom. So that OSB maybe getting a coat of off white or light gray paint.

Wade, Wish you a speedy recovery. I am a klutz too. VBG Stairs are getting harder for me. these days. Love the additions and there is always creep in construction.

Very jealous of this job Wade! Very impressive! Kali-Kat is probably waiting for things to settle down before approving the new space. Too much dust and movement and falling bodies for her comfort! Once the paint goes on and the fumes dissipate I’m sure you’ll have a happier furry companion in there. Hope you’re letting your ankle recover properly mate.

I expect that Kali-Kat will be happier once the room is fitted out and all the empty-room echo has been damped down by furniture etc. After all, their hearing is more sensitive than ours!

Definitely seal that OSB, if US OSB is anything like the Swedish it will be a splinter factory if it isn’t sealed somehow.
I used OSB, on my brothers recommendation, to make a mounting board for an electrical fuse panel in the summer house garage.
I ended up sealing it with epoxy glue used as putty.
I should have used the kind of plywood used for concrete molds, more expensive than OSB but with all the extra work & cost it would have been cheaper …
I don’t like OSB …

You could just make some fiberglass resin and paint it on to seal it from splintering.

Essentially the same end result.
The epoxi was easier to find and cheaper but the polyester resin would have done the job just as well or better.

Well this thread makes me mentally planning for our next house. 
It’s just my wife, me and two dogs but we still have a 4500 sqft house with a huge finished basement - what is my hobby area
But we only have a two car attached garage. We do have 1 acre property but due to the layout of all the utilities (septic, drainage field, gas tank in the ground, water well, storm water etc.) I can not really add an additional garage or even a bigger shed. Bummer, because I want a space to have my woodworking shop and space for one or two cars.
Since we are not 100% happy with the house layout, property etc. we are planning on selling at some point and maybe building our own house or getting a house that is really close to what we want with a bigger property where I can build an additional garage that can be used for cars/ shop and above the garage as a hobby room
The good thing is that we ar not in a rush, the bad thing is that a thread like this wanna make me moving forward sooner 
It will give me some more inspiration for sure. I am also wondering: Are you a car enthusiast and do you have some kind of collection? Sorry if you have answered that question before.
I will follow and be excited to see what comes next

Discovered, I broke my ankle so world class clumsy struck again. On the brightside, we have a flooring company quoting the hobbyroom floor. Found some suitable vinyl plank on clearance for half price. But the hobbyroom stuff is delayed for a bit.
@StickyFingers Tobi, that sounds like a sweet home at 4500 sq ft. I hope everything goes well for the plan to build exactly what you want. There’s a lot to be said for customized to the family’s spec. Space for the wood work shop sounds fantastic!
Yes, I’m a car enthusiast. My wife even tolerated the hobby for years before getting pulled into it!

That gate to the underworld in hobbyroom is the best part! It just needs something gold trimmed, don’t you think? I’ve already got a healthy does of ignorance to bring it up to standards. Two weeks after the radioactive dust settles, we’ll damp mop and celebrate that big bold beautiful future that’s so bright we’ll all have to wear shades! 
The ankle heals slower than I’d like but coming along. Kind of you to ask, thank you.
It won’t slow down setting up the hobbyroom but its definitely slowed the garage follow up getting the other two cars and spare parts home and pressure washing the floor. Pressure washed one of the cars and nearly face planted after stepping on the water hose. Not too keen to breaking the other ankle right now…
On the plus side, I did order a model kit that I don’t need! And the gold trim arrived items arrived…stay tuned!
