This is a very attractive Copper State Models French armored car, with a fun finish . . . I believe those are decals providing the camouflage on the sides:

Another WWI-themed AFV: an early-version St. Chamond, featuring one of those wild French camo schemes, and very colorful markings . . .

I really liked this LVTH6. This model, and several others presented by this builder, used a clever device of placing the finished item on a rotating “Lazy-Susan”-type platform, allowing anyone viewing the model to rotate it around and see it from all sides without the need to move to other positions at the table. I thought it was a great way to give viewers complete access to all aspects of the kit. I ended up taking a number of photos of this AFV (in different lighting conditions) because of an anomaly that I have noticed before: my iPhone was [rather drastically] changing the color of the subject — presumably to lighten the vehicle for better viewing. In this particular case, the LVTH6 image where it shows up rather dark is much closer to the model in its natural state. The picture with Dan’s hand is included to give a sense of scale — the LVTH6 is a very large vehicle, and I felt that wasn’t coming across without some way to gauge the size of the finished model.

Looks like it was a great show with some very nice models on display.

It was! I was told there were around 600 kits on display.

The kit was quite darker than this in person. Both our phones showed kits much lighter than they were painted.

OK, a few more pictures . . .

Here is the Tamiya Type 97 Chi-Ha, done as an Out-Of-The-Box build. I took a couple pictures of this because I have this kit in a box waiting to be worked on . . . I think this example by Mr. D. is quite inspirational.

I like the American M3 Medium Tank series, so this Grant attracted me right away. I was surprised to see that it was an Airfix (Academy “re-pop”) 1/35th Scale example; I thought it turned out pretty good . . . the small diorama and setting helps the overall effect:

I thought this ZSU-23/4 looked really sharp:

That Bendix air race diorama is very impressive. Best prop blur I’ve ever seen.

Any more pictures of it?

And yet another WWI AFV . . . a Renault FT. This one was representing an American-crewed vehicle. It is the vehicle portion of a wonderful trench-assault diorama — overall a really great job done here setting the scene.

No, I’m sorry, I didn’t get any pictures of that one . . . I apparently concentrated solely on the AFVs with my camera-work. It was a very impressive piece, however — great presentation. There were a LOT of really great-looking aircraft kits (automobiles too, but they just aren’t in my bailiwick). Perhaps Dan has more pictures of that piece?

An M10 Booker, by . . . Magic Factory?? I was quite taken aback by just how large this AFV is. It would have been great to get a shot of it alongside the LVTH6 for scale. Another well-built model, very impressive.

Finally, an M1A2 Abrams fitted out with the TUSK II kit. This baby looks just great, and again, I was a bit surprised to find out this was the Academy kit. Perhaps there is a bit of prejudice towards Academy on my part — certainly unwarranted in this case, and with regard to the M3 Grant seen previously. I was really caught up by the overall look of this piece — great job!

The model flew around the pylon and the propeller spun.
