I Think We Were Talking about the Possibility of this a Few Weeks Back - Takom T28 Coming

Do you typically do the work and then offer it to a company, or wait 'til a company asks you if you have information? I’ve found that the former is pretty much pointless because the producers have their own ideas about what they want to do, be it a model, aftermarket, or book, and aren’t interested in unsolicited help. It saves a lot of time for me to wait until asked.

Both. Although in the past 18 months I’ve been asked about specific subjects, such as the ACV.

I predict availability from sellers based in China in one to two months. The first container with these things will arrive in the United States in three to 5 months. No idea about Australia, Europe, and other parts of the world.

For me, it will be a 4 way race between Andy, Scale Hobbyist, Sprue Brothers, and Squadron. Who can sell me one on sale first? Maybe a 4th of July sale?

Dragon is now the dark horse in the race. Did the people at Dragon update their molds enough to be a factor? If they did, can they compete on price?

What I really want is, like, Rye Field to enter the race. I could end up with two or three really cheap T28s. Good times.

I cannot imagine that they did anything of note besides replacing the gun tube and DS tracks. I strongly doubt that their re-issue will cost less than the Takom version, either. The DML kit isn’t even going to be meaningful competition.

I’ve been in love with this monster since it dominated some virtual battlefields in World of Tanks. That was over a decade ago of course, but still fond memories!

I have it in War Thunder, its a beast but at 7.7 BR it goes against bmp’s pattons, and sometimes t-55’s

Glad I sold my Dragon kit last year.

And we end up getting two kits to satisfy everyone:

Looks good. I am interested in the fuel can rack on the A1 version. It looks similar to the one on the M48A1.

Check out the light too, over the gun

Oh my, would it be correct to say they went all out with this one?
I do wonder what the experts have to say with these new teasers!
Already scared for my soul with those PE bushguards, though..

One way i learned with the bush guards is that make them battle damaged. Since thats the way i model. ( it also makes more ways to weather or paint.)

They probably will give a jig to help form them.

The tracks scare me.

I hope they’re workable!
Cuz we have literally no aftermarket options lol.

More photos from Takom’s official FB page. I am super excited about the external fuel racks on these “what if” M28A’s! I may be able to CAD it and provide the STLs!

This definitely looks like a wallet-killer! Glad I resisted the Lizard one now. Those tracks will be twice the usual tedium, but that does mean you could thread them in after the suspension is assembled and painted. I wonder if the M28A1/2 has all the T28 parts so you can build it as either?…

Is that a parts trailer being pulled behind it?

It’s the outer set of tracks, which are removable for rail transport.
