IDF 75 Campaign

Which code number did you use? Looks too sandy to me.

No. 095 “1982”. The pics look like it is a sandy yellow, but it is actually more green in real life.

I have spent quite some time studying the few decent photos I could find of the IDF TOW jeeps and resumed work on this yesterday during the SO CAL AMPS Zoom meeting

I finished up most of the basic body work and added the screen over the radiator grill seen on the IDF M151s

Then I built up the components for the TOW system, but didn’t yet glue them all in place. I need to cut the missile rack in half because the IDF ones carry their missiles over and under rather than side by side. Also the ground mount tripod is stowed on the driver’s fender instead of under the missile rack on the IDF TOW jeeps.

Lastly I built up the rear seats and the radio components. I still need to do a bit more work on the radios. I swapped out the US jerry can for an IDF type

Now I need to do my best guesstimate of the IDF internal configuration. and do a bit of scratch work… still not sure if im going with a M1919 .30 cal or FN MAG machine gun… I’m leaning towards the Browning…

I’d go with the MAG For instead. I think the early “Orev” (version based on the older M38 Jeep) would carry a Browning.

Look at this finished “Orev” later model (NOT MINE).,

This should give you some idea of the layout on the M151A2.

Yes, but there looks to have been at least two configurations. One with the spare tire on the side as built, and another with the later change on stowage

I always fancied building one of these. If only the conversionsets weren’t so absurdly expensive.
I’ll keep an eye on this build, see how to tackle it with stuff I have.

Seems that some of the M-151 did carry the Browning mg

Yes and it looks like there were two ways of mounting the MGs, either on a swing arm pintle, or a fixed pintle.

Here’s another one:

@bwilt, Very nice work on those two vehicles. Nice to see an M3 Scout car was still in service there.

@ReluctantRenegade, That’s a great shot of the later configuration! Thanks. For some reason I’m really drawn to this one with the spare tire in the original location, and no shelf for another missile over the radio, and no swing arm mount for the passenger side MG.

Yepp, the M1919 indicates it’s probably an early version.

I stumbled upon some photos

Thanks Nikos! Those are a couple I have not come across before, and are helpful!

To be honest I do not have any kind of knowledge of the subject, I will post whatever photo I find here

Thanks all!

Really like that piture of those Jeepie things under that tree… got a couple of them, would make a nice dio …

Added a last figure, beacause you wouldn’t leave the radio unattended…

connected him to the radio… though it is hard to see…

and added the antenna’s, which makes this one finished…

Added the hubcaps on the other one so he won’t loos his wheels, which makes that one finished to…

Thanks for the nice campaign, and good luck to everyone who still has to get to the finish!

Great work Bert, and the finishing on both is wonderful :+1:… How many more vehicles/ figures are there left to do for the IDF Dio ?
