I thought maybe so too, but everything lines up between the two vehicles, and extending the hull would be pretty monumental. But, I’m no engineer of any kind, lol
There is one individual on this very site who can’t be trusted - sent my photos and measurements to Panda for their Cougar. Funny how the decals have the same Navy ID number as the one I used for reference, in the azz end of Iraq on a small COP. I’ve long suspected, but have finally confirmed, my photos have also been sent to DEF as well.
There’s always one in every group.
That’s the nature of people I guess.
And why this hobby is actually a loner thing save for those weekend basement club build I’ve heard about…
Was speaking to the crew of the M88A2 at the US Cavalry & Armor Collection open weekend about their mount. They pointed out the M1 road wheels that they’d started to mount improved serviceability.
The hull of the M88A3 is the same length as the M88A2. By adopting hydro-pneumatic suspension to replace the torsion bars, BAE was able to squeeze the suspension stations closer together. This was part of the BAE pitch (reuses existing hulls with “minimal” modification).
This is how things get done. If all I had to do was scratchbuild something we’d have had a 1/35 M1 240mm Howitzer twenty years ago, among other things.
This picture was taken by Nikita Teryoshin at the 2018 EUROSATORY exhibition in Paris. According to the caption, the vehicle is a Finnish Patria 6x6 APC.
Right. He also owns luckymodel.com store. He actually started off with the online retail business then went into production later. Kinetic mostly focuses on aircraft models now bc from what I read, Raymond was not making enough ROI on armor kits.
As to related to this topic, I don’t anticipate Kinetic coming out with an M88A2 or A3 in polystyrene. AFV Club probably won’t do it bc they would have done it a while back if the ROI was justified.
