I have this one in my stash too. Interesting to see your final result with this model

I have seen green bases with black springs and tan or green antennas.

What would be the color of the aerials for a tan vehicle?

TIA

Almost all of the big radio antennas have been green and most EW antennas have been tan.

Antennae are interchangeable, They don’t care which vehicle they’re mounted to - and for those in the peanut gallery - provided they’re correct for the radio system in the vehicle.

I forgot there were a few that were black as well (X shaped and there was one that was bid caged in shape)

Thanks for the inputs. I guess I I’ll follow the painting instructions from ILK.

The basic paint has been sprayed. I decided to use XF-93 DAK dark yellow 1942 instead of the OEF/OIF color from AK. It looks quite convincing.

Many details have already been hand painted. The RWS and the wheels are not glued yet.

I’ll spray some gloss varnish before I apply the various decals. I still have some details to paint afterwards.

Bit late for this one Olivier, but you have done a great job with it. Looks great :+1:

Thank you Johnny but it’s not finished yet. Weathering this color is always a pain.

I have applied the service markings here and there. I also painted some details in green and black to add more variation. The bolt heads were colored with a alcohol based pencil.

Nice. A few more areas could use color or black if you so desire:

Thanks for the pictures. They will be useful especially the second one as I had nothing of this area.

Glad to help. It’s gratifying when people actually find my photos useful.

The end is close. I glued the driver’s door, the rear view mirrors and the spare wheel. I just need to add the antennas.

The vehicle has been weathered a bit with a brown pinwash, some highlights, some mud splatters made with pigments and mud cake under the wheel arches made with pigments too. The latter are not really showing.

I’ll probably have to blend the pigments on the tires a bit more.

Sorry for the pictures. I’ll take better ones when the antennas are glued.
