Ok, whose up for making Casey Jones’ “Mig” from The Hunters?
If they’ve got this one they’re lucky, I understand when they do crop up for sale the price is not only an arm and a leg but several major internal organs too… I live in hope Aoshima do a re-release some day.
I think the last release of the AMT Ecto was the 1A version from “Ghostbusters 2”, while some more recent issues of the Revell 1968 Mustang GT still contain “Bullitt” components but they aren’t called out in the instructions. The Bullitt version instructions are here:
There was a detailed build log with a lot more information but I lost the link when my last computer morted itself.

Tom. I am open to models of models as long as the basic concept is a model of a real vehicle, etc. Plenty of films have CGI models or just partial sets meant to depict an area of a real vehicle.
Midway is a perfect example of the use of CGI to depict ships and aircraft. So are the war galley from 300: Rise of an Empire. You want to build a CGI depicted subject , go right ahead.
Building HMS Cumberland using the HMS Suffolk is fine. I see that in the same vein as using a Stug kit to represent the FV432 mock up Stug used in Saving Private Ryan as per above.
If someone wants to build a WW2 era Missouri, using a kit of a modern version of the Missouri, I am not going to nit pick. Plenty of films supposedly based in WW2 have ships with Phalanx systems, rocket launchers, etc, visible.
Rules here are VERY Flexible.
I used to have the very old Airfix set of Bond and Odd Job. Bond’s likeness was dreadful…
Not mine, but you get the idea:
Can you see the similarity?
I have a Takom Lee,Lulubelle markings,and Belushi’s crew in the stash,maybe.
I did Hesslers Tiger for a Hollywood Group Build some years ago using the Revell kit.
Dont forget Sky Captain “World of tomorrow” ---- didn’t that have a Warhawk in it as his plane ?
Very nice King Tiger/Patton Anthony. That really looks like the film tank.
I still have that sitting in my stash back from when the model was first released.
I like all the additional details added to the kit the most, actually. I’ve since sold mine but kept the cassette player/radio
Building the Avro Vulcan from Thunderball movie might be tempting, but not for me.
Me being huge fan of “The Final Countdown”. Was excited when Tamiya announced the release of a 1/48 scale F-14 A Tomcat. When I saw the pricetag, I was a little shocked:-(

Worth every penny,if your budget allows it,go for it.
Sticking with the naval theme, there’s also the Red October (although a Typhoon would need a lot of work to convert), USS Dallas and an Alfa-class. We also see a TU-95, an E-2C, Seaking and of course the F-14 that turns into a crash-landing Panther.
Probably a few others I can’t think of at the moment in the film.
Don’t forget the SH-3 used in the movie to transport Ryan to USS Dallas, or USS Rueben James and the SH-60 seen in the film’s action climax scene. Kits of all of those are available.
Note the propulsion on the box art… which is not represented in the kit! Probably would not be too hard:
However, the doors closed up against the hull anyway.
Here is a free 3d print - doesn’t look that accurate in slide 1 but 2 and 3 have extra bits shown.
Very nice… Nothing like a theme in your builds.
