Infantry tank, A11 Matilda MkIV. Another 3D printing adventure

Perhaps a radio beside the driver? I doubt this tank will move and shoot at the same time alot, without a stabilizer, so when it’s time to suppress an AT gun he can get on the radio, then relay messages to the commander.

And this is one of the reasons I like this project so much. Support tanks are perhaps even cooler than battle tanks in my view.

Can I get REAL silly?

I’m going to get real silly.

Crossbow MkII 17pdr TD. It’s British for ‘Hetzer’.

Yes please! Though I think Longbow may be more appropriate as a moniker.

As in drawing a Longbow?

The problem with radio’s - usually infantry & armour are on different frequencies, so 2 radio’s are required, and typically there is also a transceiver so that you can listen in while you transmit. Then you need to find space on turret or hull for the aerials too. And don’t forget the batteries…
All reasons to not have radio’s, but if you’re supporting a Heavy, then you need to talk to them.

Shooting MG’s on the go was probably standard - Besa’s blazing hints at that, movement would help dispersion & no main gun to employ the Stop. Fire. drill.

And, Silly - duly ticked. Not sure Hetzer is quite appropriate, that conjures sloped armour to me.

it’s not about the shape, rather the size and purpose.

I think your design for the Clementine is super solid the way it is. Let the modeler add an antenna or field phone if they like. The scenario of these scuttling about super-heavies is very appealing and H.G. Wells. I love it. The TD design is definitely NOT silly - it’s brilliant! You KNOW they would have immediately gone there. Look at all the crap the US mounted on the Stuart, and Germany the Panzer I.

I like the 17lber, I know Clementine is because of the Churchill link, but how about Mandarin for the tank hunter to continue the citric theme for the little tanks, then maybe the Tangerine flame throwing variant? Ha!

I really do want one of those Clementines though…

and the APC / Kangaroo variant would be the ‘Lemon’ ?
with Lime being the scout carrier.
The ammo-resupply vehicle could be the Grapefruit

Alright, NOW we’re getting silly.

I love it. Can you make a mortar carrier or something like that?

Mortar carrier: would that be the Pomegranate?

Almost ready for another round of test-prints. Added some shackles to the front end and begun smattering rivets about the hull.

Edit: Piano hinges and reinforcement stampings.
