Is the 1/35 Takom M-60 a pretty simple build

How many hours does it take, I built the Tamiya which was really simple and fast.

It takes a little longer than a Tamiya build, but is 1000 times better detailed and worth it in my opinion.

The Tamiya M60s are the worst kits of the vehicle that you can still get in 1:35. Literally any other is better, if only by virtue of being less ancient

I haven’t built any Takom M60 specifically but I have built a fair number of their other kits, and looking at the instructions for a Takom M60 on Scalemates just now, I’d say it looks pretty typical. That’s to say: it will be more involved to build than Tamiya, but you’ll end up with a far better model. As these kits have soft-plastic track, at least they will build up fairly quickly because you won’t have a thousand or so parts for the tracks to contend with.

I’m currently building the Takom M60 ERA with the M9 dozer blade . It’s taken me about three weeks to get where I am and will need another two weeks. I’m working on it about 6-8 hours a week. It’s a pretty straightforward build. I would suggest you really think through the turret basket assembly procesd as the instructions are not helpful in a step by step way.

I’ve also built the Tamiya version, and as others have said, fast more simplistic and less detailed than Takom.

100% agree about the bustle rack, take your time, try and pre-bend it, I used exacto handles on a plastic matt to form it, roll it, as much as I could. Rest of the kit went together like cake. :+1:

I’ve built 3 Takom “Sixties”. (Which reminds me, I reeeeeeaaaaally need to finish painting them…)

They’re a joy to build. I have the M60A1, the M60A1 RISE passive (sold as M60A1 with explosive reactive armor) and the M60A3 with M9 bulldozer. All of them are easy to build, yet nicely detailed. As mentioned, the only tricky part is the bustle rack.
