Joann fabrics oob sales

Not sure it’s worth a separate trip but if you’re near one…

Cricut Nd silhouette type machines 25% off

Terrain making type stuff up to 40% off

Fine arts (liquitex and golden) only 10% off

I imagine discounts will increase as they get closer to closing the doors…

Interesting. A Cricut machine would work good for cutting sheet styrene, as a handful of people here have done in the past.

A friend has a similar Silhouette. It is great for cutting adhesive masks but it was limited in how thick of a plastic sheet it could do cleanly. I would investigate that if it was you main reason for purchasing.

I was at one with my wife the day before they announced the buyout. That store had kits, but of brands I’d never heard of.

This one had no kits.

There was a fair bit of terrain making things - those little pre-made HO trees, molds, various grasses and ground cover kinds of things, various wood supplies for crafting.

Be careful in the parking lot - geezers seem to have a lot of trouble parking and unparking - saw two near misses while waiting for my wife to come out and then someone nearly hit us as we were leaving…

As a follow-on, my wife told me the woman at the store today said they have a big delivery from their warehouse coming in overnight. I don’t know what is in the warehouse, but maybe good stuff too?

Go to JoAnn’s for their plastic boxes and bins…really good and sturdy snap-on fastener lids for 40-60% off…huge boxes that should last a lifetime…really good deal that is often better than Amazon.

how thick a plastic sheet can the cricut cut

According to this thread, .02 inch easily.

That’s about .75 inches after paint in 1/35. Given that most gun shields and modern plate steel for miitary applications is 3/8 inch, it should work just fine.

If you need anything thicker, do what to PE manufacturers do - double it up.
