Came out very nicely. Great job. Anxious to see it with the weathering. Good luck.
Ditto! Looking good!
You’ve done a top job with the whole conversion Matt. All the areas that gave you a headache have come out looking great. Some great little touches and sweet details. The final weathering you give it will finish it off perfectly.
Clean and elegant model, but in my opinion the exhaust looks like a wreckage. I think it can be easily corrected.
@Makiwawa So I should tone down the exhaust?
Thank you for the compliments gents. I appreciate them.
@Johnnych01 John thanks for all the comments and compliments. Your advice and support throughout this build has been heartfelt and greatly appreciated. I hope we have formed a friendship that will last for a long time.
I think that’s fair to say that’s a given Matt
@SSGToms- exhaust: in my opinion, yes
Personally I like the weathered exhaust and when you add more weathering it should blend the effect a little so it wont look as stark. But its your model! Still looking great!
Beautiful Matt !!
I don’t know if it was intentional or the lighting for the photos but the greys tonal difference between the cab and [ lighter tone ] body is just soooooo real looking !!
Well done, Matt!
Frame lengthening and front windows ordeal have turned your build into a rescue operation.
You managed to fix the shortcomings and have a fine looking model at the finish line.
Therefore- a tip of the hat to you!
@Panzer_modeler Thanks Ezra - I think when I weather it and blend it all together it will look the part.
@Cheyenne Glenn, thank you. Yes, it is intentional. Part of doing Panzer grey, to me, is to mist various shades of the color over different parts of the vehicle. This will all be tied together with some strategic dry-brushing.
@ayovtshev Thank you Angel, compliments like that coming from a scratchbuilding Master like you are a true honor, sir. I am happy that you appreciate my work.
Thank you to all of you guys for your comments, compliments, and support. This was my first WIP blog and I didn’t know how it would go. I’m really glad for all the feedback and encouragement you’ve given me. I’m not finished yet, so stay tuned!
If you were going to tone it down Matt I would lay on a thin coat of dark iron (Tam xf 84)… That would still let some of the rust show through. It looks great whatever you decide though.
The dark iron is my go to colour now for old cold iron…looks great as a base coat for tracks as well as per Jim’s KTiger build.
Thanks for the suggestion John that’s a bit of inspiration. I love Tamiya Dark Iron and use it to base coat all of my tracks. I think I’ll make a wash of it and apply it to the exhaust. If that doesn’t tone it down enough I’ll try dry-brushing some on. Thanks for the idea, brilliant!
Very nicely done!
That windshield would have got my goat.
Thanks Wade! I walked away from my bench several days in a row but I knew I had to get one to fit eventually.
As suggested by John @Johnnych01 a wash of Tamiya Dark Iron did the trick on the exhaust and toned things down nicely. Not too garish now. Thanks John, I owe you one!
Done with the washes, on to dot filters.
SANITY??? WHAT sanity???/ NONE of us have Sanity SSGToms… ha hahah
Very nice work Buddy. Well done.
Toned down nicely Matt. The end is in sight buddy
