Thanks Nimrod. As I say, I’m loving yours!
I can see that your photos aren’t as sharp as they could be, but the faded, dusty look is coming along beautifully…

We probably walked past each other a few times at Nats than as I got mine from Castmates. I don’t have Raymond’s book. Need to look for that.
Lulubelle in the raw waiting for primer. Dragon M4A2 hull and Asuka parts to make M32B2. BIG thank you to Michael who 3D printed the Cult files and sent me important parts for the mortar, holdout arms, and spare wheel and boom holders. I had to modify some of those parts for fit. E models’ Sherman tools with MJ miniatures US clamps. The Asuka tool box also needs modifications for a B2 type. The boom will be painted separately as it makes working on the hull tricky and its parts are easily damaged.
First time I have used VMS tank green primer and it’s excellent. I’m using AK Real Colours olive drab on Lulubelle. The two work well together I think.
Killer is underway. I’m using Panzer Art Deep Wading set. It requires a removal of the rear lower hull to fit the rear element. It’s fairly basic and needs bling but looks fine enough.
Killer waiting for longer coffee stirring sticks. The Lanmo Model kit is the wrong shape for this Dragon Kit.
Killer has interior for hull and turret as hatches open. 75mm taken from a Tamiya M4.
Killer with wooden armour. Sides based on photo. The front was covered also but the form unknown so this is based on other tanks in the background or aka Jungle Jim.
And… after doing all the wooden armour, I don’t like it…. To tidy on front and the nuts are wrong. Back to the drawing board.
All the vehicles you are building for this diorama are really impressive. I like your initiative, your skill, your attention to detail, and your authenticity to the real vehicles. Outstanding work, and it just gets better with each installment. I’ve had the idea and the models for decades to do Killer and the tankette, but your excellent rendering gives me pause.
Thanks Matt. I appreciate your comment.
The whole project is coming along excellent Jeremy. Great job on all the vehicles and can’t wait to see it done.
Mate your excellent craftsmanship has finally flushed me out of habitual lurk-age, I agree with all prior plaudits. What tipped me out of the shadows was your willingness to scrap/replace previous hard work, from personal experience I know what that takes. If you keep up this standard this will be one for the Ages, bravo.
(PS - the more I Googled “Nimrod” [because I wrongly confused it with Poseidon] the more I wondered if you might consider a formal Re-Avatar…
… or am I missing some classic Aussie Irony?)
Thanks, Richard. Slow and steady…
Actually, Tim, boring reason for that choice of pseudonym. Used to work on those aircraft in RAF…
Far from boring & a good name for a hunter, alas the other meaning ![]()
