Large Mörser Karl dio. “Ziu Vor” Completed

I see that seven Karls were made, individually named (Adam, Loki, Thor etc.) – maybe a new title could derive from your chosen name & operations e.g. Odin vs. Sevastopol, if that one had the shorter barrel like yours?

Or, since you’re at a rail station, “Odin Comes To Town”.

Good suggestions… I actually depicted Ziu, on the morning of the 17th of August 1944, as it arrives in Warsaw in order to help suppress the uprising.
How about “Ziu Vor” ?

I like that.

The last scene is complete… Both carriers will be connected to a draw bar after which the upper parts will be joined by large pins.
While one soldier of the railroad troops guides the engine driver in the shunter, another one guides the draw bar so it will ease into the slot, without damaging the air hose.
On top of one of the carriers yet another one sits ready to insert the pin.
All this under the watchful eye of the driver of the steam locomotive…

Huge in every way, and I particularly like the extra care with narrative – every figure is telling their part of the story, love it. I’ve been trying to decide what I like most but I’ve given up, mainly because your quality craftsmanship is so consistent across every element. 2.5 years (and how many hundreds of hours?) later you did it! Bravo, hope you’re enjoying that sense of hard-earned achievement   :beers:

Thanks for your kind words my friends! I feel a bit funny right now… After all this time, with all the sidings and delays due to other projects, it is finally finished! A kind of emptyness.
One thing I didn’t do, as you might have noticed, is connect the rolling stock, although it was my intention to do so. I didn’t, as this eases cleaning. Every vehicle is loose so it can be removed for dusting, both the vehicle and the area beneath it…

Yep, happens every time I finish a project. I found watching so good ol war flicks usually snaps me out of it and on to the next one.

This was a HUGE project, so a detachment syndrome is expected. Question is, what’s next?

Well that is an impressive amount of work and quite an achievement I would say! These large projects take a large amount of dedication and discipline to finish and not many have those attributes so kudos to you sir !
Well done !

I think I will go on with another one I already completed the vehicles for…

I will have to create the groundwork with the typical Irish stone wall and the figures for this.

Thanks a bunch Jerry. It most certainly didn’t come by itself…
