There were actually 5 sets marks (for 25 barrels) included, but since there are 12 barrels in a separate set plus the 8 included, this seems to the best choice.

Yeah,I concur with everyone about that rail car. It is down to a “t” as we say here. Love the tick marks on the door. Nice touch.

Was is so bad then ?
The next wagon is ready to throw (more) paint at it. The only thing is, that the gaping hole needs some filling. The manufacturer offers 2 options : either slats from styrene, or PE grates. I would like to go for the latter, but in all their brilliancy they included only one grate?? I wrote them a mail and sent a message through FB, but after 2 weeks I still have not received any response. 
What to do?

Looks great. While not great, can you added generic pe or another material mesh so that least they look the same and that will convince most people.
Thanks for the advice. There are 2 slatted grates included, so I can always opt for those. And I don’t have any mesh at hand.

You could also use stretched sprue or evergreen rod and just have vertical bars for a different look if you don’t want to do the horizontal bar. Dimensional it would look better then pe, if that matters to you.
