I saw these in Lidl today
Genius on the part of Revell, from a marketing perspective. As brick and mortar shops disappear, there has to be a way to expose kids to model kits. Not sure those are the ones to hook them, but who knows?
They’ve had these along with the Titanic and some 1/24 cars in my local store. I think they’re selling them as gifts for dads and grandads. But hey, if some kids get inspired then that’s great!
I do remember they used to sell more Revell aircraft gift sets. Picked up a Tigermeet RF-4 and Seaking and a few others in the past.
Here in the states, about twenty five years ago, Harbor Freight was selling Eastern Express KV flame thrower kits at a ridiculous price. I bought out several stores and made a killing on eBay.
I’d think for the same price point they would do well with the entry level Gundam kits, that’s all my son will build.
