Calling the AFV Club SdKfz 263 done.
The painted repair on the balkenCruz came out better than I had hoped.
The figure is a Frankenstein of parts. You probably canât see the cigarette in his hand.
Nice build Peter and looks good on the display. Finished turned really well⌠A good worn and faded/ dusty lookâŚ
Oh, I do LOVE that 263! Really canât say much more that that Peter. Well done!
Mike
Did a little more on the detail type stuff. Added the camo poles to the side and used some cut lead sheet for the straps.
The spade box is getting the same treatment with the lead straps. Iâll need to slide the long end under the antenna base protectors and bring it back to the box. I have a couple âbucklesâ that Iâll need to carefully slide on the straps. Once thatâs done, Iâll attach the box to the roof, paint the straps and, oh boi(!), attach the lights to the front and rear. Dusting of the box and poles will be done once the box is secure.
I still need to make the hootch and straps for it.
Mike
Thanks guys.
It is these little details that bring out a kit Mike. On the last stretch now.
I expect truck washing would be very low on the list of priorities in a post apocalyptic world John. Doesnât this belong in the Convoy! thread though?
Sadly Peter, you are totally correct lol⌠Absolutely no idea why I posted it here
Now deleted and movedđ
Creeping up on the finish line. Got all of the decals on. They werenât in register to begin with and 20 years of aging didnât do them any favors.
Really like how that blackbird is looking. Really coolâŚ
Peter that is an excellent job. Love the finish especially the dusty appearance. Great job. I have one of these kits from AFV club that I need to get to one of these days
I managed to get the straps for the spade box installed. Two little itty-bitty straps with buckles. Took almost an hour. UGH!! The real fight was getting the buckles on. Straps will get painted shortly. Iâll need to look at my Value Gear camo nets to see if I have one of the proper size. If I do, itâll go right behind the TCs hatch. If I donât, I have a different brand net on the way (itâll be well past the end of the campaign when I get it, but that be okay).
Six days left. Oi!
Mike
@petbat great finish, Peter. Nicely weathered and i like subtle blueish tint of panzer grey.
Itâs time to end my epic struggle with Karas as well. Long battle many lessons learned⌠but will they be remembered? I have a baad feelings about that
Here are the final pics:
Aaand I wouldnât be myself if I didnât try to cover my mistakes made with the model by mistakes made by making a totally hand made vignette (it still needs some retouches and finishing touches)âŚ
Itâs telling a what-if story of âDreams of Prowessâ⌠All birds are Polish Air Force from 1939, letâs call it a museum showcase from parallel universe where war events went different and those PZL planes could go to museum to tell people story about their former glory. Something that Iâd really like to see in museum, but so far⌠thereâs only restored but non-flyable PZL P.11 (rightmost on vignette) in Museum of Aviation in Krakow.
Despite the issues with the glazing, it is still beautiful Radek. Really nicely finished overall.
Yea I must admit it was testing my patience to last little bits, Peter, but Iâm glad I prevailed the struggle, with great support from you guys.
Mistakes or not, youâve managed this, and a beautiful little scene/vignette to go along with it. Very beautiful scene.
Great build, Radek. Love the diorama idea - super nice and eye catching.
Congrats on finsihing!
Congratulations to those who finished!
Unfortunately I didnât manage to finish my Kfir Tsilum .
Iâve had a lot of work in the last few months and weâre having a few visitors at the moment, which is tying up my workbench (which is in our guest room).
Yay me! Lights are on. For the front end I still need to add the horn, clean up around the lightâs base, subdue the dusting on the lower front hull, and add the bumper numbers (42 years later, Iâm having a tough time remembering the S-3 Operations track number - was it HHB or HQ? I know my later vehicles were HHB ##. Maybe I can find the pictures I took - Ha! Good luck Mike).
For the rear of the track, all thatâs left is the tow cable, brake lights and fuel can. The roof still needs the hootch and davit (lift for the generator).
And then, finally(?) track install.
Mike
Finally nearing the finish line, too. A few decals still missing, I plan to do them tomorrow or at least this weekendâŚ
When this campaign is done, we need to do it again. Lots of great models here!
