Very interesting looking kit.

All I need is a 1/35 scale ship to go with it!

1/35 Yamato. Should fit on the shelf with no issues at all

Calling this inspirational reading and reference material.

Kicking around idea of starting a ship build of some sort for the first time in like 25 years. Picked up a basic version 1/700 Meng USS Enterprise CV-6 a while back.

I will recommend what I recommend to any new (or long lost) ship builder. Tamiya 1/350 USS Fletcher. Its nice and big so the build isn’t super fiddly. Its mostly accurate in shape and looks good even without aftermarket. Grab the Eduard set for it which is cheap and also not overly complex and you end up with a nice easy entry back into the game that will look great when done.

Gary, Pit-Road’s Type 96 25mm triple is an excellent it! I built their older single version a while back -

The newer triple is even better, now that they’re making the parts out of plastic rather than white metal. Infini Models even makes an upgrade set for it:

Nice. :+1:t3:

Going to try my hand at making this kit work :stuck_out_tongue:

You can do it, mate :slightly_smiling_face:

The latest from Hobby Link Japan (after 3 months at sea): the 1/700 Full-Hull Akagi. Hopefully this will be much less work than the original I tried to build for the last Flattops campaign.

The latest goodies to arrive on my doorstep.

White Ensign PE for the Type 45 Destroyer as well as the Type 23 Frigate I have in my stash. I also got some resin Phalanx for the Type 45.

Next is a 3D printer SK-2 Radar from Black Cat. Its simply gorgeous and will be installed on my USS North Carolina one of these years when I actually build her. I will be getting another one of these to replace the one on my USS Missouri.

And lastly a pure impulse buy. This just looks like a neat little ship and has some history behind her.

The final (I hope) elements for my USS Enterprise CVN-65 build finally arrived. Extensive decal set for the various airwings. This will be an ahistoric airgroup on my carrier but they will look cool.

Hey Rory, did you also get the Veteran models replacement for the 45’s main gun ? :cowboy_hat_face:

Not yet. Want to see how the kit parts look. Also the only place I can find it is BNA world so would want to order a bunch of stuff from there. Have to save up the pennies first :stuck_out_tongue:
