Ooo very nice!!!
The USS Langley is a awesome ship and I cant wait to see it built!
Patiently waiting for it in 1/700 (ok impatiently waiting)
Nice Langley, that will definitely be a build worth watching.
My latest aquisitions
The detail is outstanding, nice decal sheet and even a book with the history of the boat.
and a cute little early post war training, looks a cracking kit and comes with decals for the RN Historic Flights trainer.
Cheers

Hi Simon,
Will be watching with great interest your build of the WW1 u boat!
Have a great day!
Thanks Joe,
It will be a few months, not room the boat and the Bismarck on the bench at the same time, but it will be blogged on here.

I’ll keep an eye open…looking forward to it!

This just arrived from Amazon.
This just arrived today from Scalehobbyist:
I still need to pick up the WEM P/E set for the Ark Royal. You probably can’t really tell from the photo, but the little P/E frets from Eduard are 1/700 figures for US Navy, Royal Navy, and Regia Marina.

Always on the hunt for good 1:350 scale sailor figures for my ships I stumbled over an offer at Ebay from a japanese dealer: He is offering several different 3D-printed IJN figures which look quite promising and different. There is one set of a flight deck crew (would also good fit to David´s TAMA ) and the other is an aircraft carrier crews and pilots set from Tori Factory:
The figures from Tori´s set does look very crisp and nice for this tiny scale
The figures from the Flight deck diorama (homemade set?!) are the best and most naturally looking in this scale I´ve seen so far - sadly also the most expensive (had to pay 15 EURO extra for VAT and handling fee on top to the already demanding price). There is also a colored leaflet with a proposal where to place which figures but you can of course also place them at whatever ship at whatever position as you like.
Cheers

Thomas - great find, I too am always looking for quality 1/350 figures and Flight Deck Diorama is a new one.
I have a set of the Tori and now I have a set of the Deck Diorama ordered. Another option for you are the ION figures, if you google it will provide a link to Super Hobby. The ION sets are reasonably priced and while not as crisp with detail as say North Star they provide some excellent body positions
Thanks for pointing these out, they are great.

Bit of an impulse buy,
I’ve only built armor, but have wanted to branch out for a while. Finally pulled the trigger, got me a Dreadnought with all the trimmings. God knows when I’ll get to it…
That is a great addition to your stash. Happy building!
Went to the local IPMS show today and grabbed some goodies. My Local Hobby store also has their annual customer appreciation day today with some good discounts.
Despite my continued insistence that I will not be buying any more capital ships I sadly succumbed (again)
@Russelle I also bought a thing (the discount made it worth it…just)
I’m so jealous right now
McRunty,
Despite my continued insistence that I will not be buying any more capital ships I sadly succumbed (again)
And I thought it was only me. I will be tested at the upcoming IPMS show in October, I expect to fail.

I actually ended up taking the Indianapolis back to my local hobby store. I then bought the Indianapolis to replace it
After doing some research I discovered that most of the AM out there is for the Academy version. It also has a more accurate hull shape. So I got the Academy kit.
Rory, good decision, I have two sitting in the stash the limited edition version which came with etch and a Jap sub, plus a standard kit with all the Model Monkey 3D printed parts to convert it into the USS Portland .
As for my own slipways my dockers have gone on strike as they have seen winged things coming out of the factories.
