A great supplier to order online from is Hobbylinc out of Georgia. I have ordered from them for years, they ship quickly, prices and shipping cost are great. They also have a great rewards program where you get $$$ of of your orders. Please give them a try.

I haven’t ordered from Lucky Model in about 15 years. They are too unreliable. I’ve had great success with HobbyEasy and BNA Modelworld.

Lucky Model has a history of horrible customer service going way back to the old forums. Even with the current state of world events… rising prices, local shipping, international shipping, taxes, tariffs, import/export duties, etc., it’s a safer bet to avoid the gamble with 'Lucky Model. …

I think I bought something twice four or five years ago. Back then, when the item was in stock, they generally delivered. However, I’ve placed three orders with Hobbyeasy in the last month; they’re great. I haven’t ordered from BNA recently because they’re more expensive than BNA (well, that’s the exchange rate between the Polish złoty and the dollar, although it’s been improving recently). A few years ago, I bought quite a bit from them, and I’ve also had excellent experiences.

I haven’t ordered from Hobbylinc in a while. Lately, I’ve been having trouble ordering from the US at all. I recently tried to buy something from Kraken Hobbies (a product for about $10), but I was stunned by the shipping cost, which was $64. I don’t know if that’s the standard shipping cost from the US to Poland now, but I have a few US items in my eBay cart, and the shipping cost is also $64. I used to pay about $15 for shipping. I don’t know what’s going on.

Luckily, I bought it through PayPal. I’ve already received my refund, but the matter isn’t completely resolved, and I’m not sure if Lucky Model is playing a trick on me and if I’ve received my full refund.

Shipping across the Atlantic from the US has become stupidly expensive.

Did you use PayPal? They will usually (for me been 99.9% of the time.) refund you payment if the vendor does something nefarious or is a blatant a**hole. NOTE: Use “Goods&Services”. Big thing with scammers is they want payment by “friends & family” . No service charge for them using F&F. (sounds like a good excuse.) BUT Paypal does not protect those payments! You are SOL.

Could be part of the tariff fight. Haven’t done since but used to order from Super Hobby a bunch and shipping from Poland to US was reasonable.

It goes both ways…..I would love to order from AFV Modeler…..but the shipping almost doubles the price.

That’s true, but previously, at least when the item was listed as “in stock,” they processed the order efficiently. I’ve bought from them at least three or four times, but now, even if you order a product with the “in stock” status, there’s no guarantee it will be delivered. They’ve started using a new “available limited quantity” status, which most likely means it’s simply out of stock. They’re hoping to accumulate more orders within two or three months to get a bigger discount from the manufacturer. If there aren’t any more orders, wait even longer or try canceling the order; you might be able to get it.

I remember that when I last shopped on Hobbylinc, a few years ago, they also charged me very expensive shipping. And just recently (a few months ago), I bought a 3D print from Di Stefano (I’m a ship modeler), and the shipping cost was around $18. Regarding shipping from Poland to the US, due to customs regulations, it’s currently impossible to send a parcel from Poland to the US (only letters and documents).

Fortunately, PayPal refunded my money, but the case isn't completely resolved
yet, and only after it's fully resolved will I be certain that my money will be
permanently returned to me. I don't know if the store will come up with another
plan, and I'll have to wait even longer for the final refund.

Inch Allah. With me they have been pretty quick and straightforward. Worse incident was more communications than anything else (ordered a jacket …. XXL. Item received was labeled “XXL” (maybe for a GI Joe. My arm would not fit in the sleeve!) Kept telling me I ordered XXL, label said XXL, there is no problem. Took a while to get them to understand a 24 inch chest was NOT “XXL” on THIS planet. ) Good luck.

I just discovered them,for some reason I thought they were in Japan.They are a great one stop shop for paint and supplies,put my 1st order in this week.

I thought the same thing. Now I’ll add them to my possible source list.
Meanwhile… I’ve been getting bombarded with Lucky Model weekly ads, even though I’ve cancelled my account long ago.
