Thanks for the internal fuel tank info. Unfortunately, I already cut the Academy fuel tank early this morning but I can always glue it back together.
If you look at this image, also from Prime Portal, you can see the internal fuel tank aligned with the edge of the bench seat. I should have checked this image before cutting the Academy part.
Here is the Academy fuel tank back together. I need to fill and sand it to get rid of the cut lines. You can see it doesnât actually align with the bench seat edge line but I took the photo at a different angle but it was the best I could get it to try to match.
You got pretty close, I would be happy with that.
If you really want to get to line up exactly, I would make a shim out of sheet plastic, attached to the left hand side of the fuel tank, where it meets up with the back wall of the body. This area is hard to see when the top is added.

@18bravo, @tankerken Thanks! I just checked with the upper hull on and with the troop hatch open you can barely see it. Even with the ramp down, it is still pretty hard to see. I will leave it as is. I just need to fill in the cut lines and sand it now.
When storing the extra M47 rounds in the M113A2, would the bipods still be attached or would they be removed? How many rounds do they typically store inside? I am using the Tamiya M47âs for the extra rounds.
Starting on the interior of the M113A2 Just Cause vehicle. The floor is only dry fitted for now. Trying to get all the parts in that will be the light green. I will be scratch building some parts specific to the ones that had the M47 mounted which I havenât started on yet.
Questions on the IDF M113 FN MAG placement. Where is the correct placement for the two FN MAGâs by the cargo hatch? Academy has them placed differently from AFV and Dragon. Which is the correct placement for them? Were they placed differently at different time frames?
I see on the Academy product image they show the FN MAGâs on the sides of the cargo hatch as seen below.
Both the AFV and Dragon product images shows them just forward of the cargo hatch at the corners.
