This is my first full 3D kit that I have printed and built. I downloaded the files for an M149A2 Water Buffalo from Cults3D.
The printed parts.
They printed up nicely and it gives you the options of open or closed spigot cases, up or down front support wheel, open or closed tank lid, and dual or single wheels. It has a total of 18 separate parts, with a few being printed twice for both sides. The tank comes in two parts that only needed a little putty to close up the joint.
I went with the open water spigot boxes, which have very nice spigots and the landing wheel down as a Buffalo in use somewhere. The decals are a mix of spares for the bumper numbers and data plates, and a “Potable Water Only” set from Perfect Scale Modelbau. Everything is 3D printed, with the exception of the cables, chain, and mud flaps.
I really like how it came out and am very impressed by the level of detail. It is a great little piece. I have a few other small trailers that I downloaded and look forward to printing and building as well.

how long did the print take

Hi Joey. In total, it took about 4-5 hours. Three separate prints over the course of an afternoon. Not bad and the cost of the files was low as well, about $12.

I love that this one looks EXACTLY like the ones I’ve drank from when i was in the military.

Thanks. That was the goal. Looks just like the ones I drank from as well.

Nice print Gino, looks as good if not better than my PSM early version which had short shot casting and no water spigots, good job

Thanks Terry. I too have a PSM early M149 and am currently trying to sell it. If anyone wants it, let me know. I will even throw in some of the above 3D printed parts including the tank, to bring it up to M149A2 standards. For Sale or Trade: Armor, Helos, Softskins
Matt, yours looks good. Is that the PSM version?

I’m glad to see how well this turned out! Years ago before 3-D printing existed I had to do a scratchbuild/kit bash of the earlier M149A1 (different front support wheel for the most part) and as it turns out the old plastic film canisters that 35mm film came in were perfect for the tank.
Nicely done!!
Certainly a whole lot easier being able to print out the parts than make them by hand!

Hi Tom. Looks good. I do like the things you can now do with 3D printing. It has opened up my modeling aperture a lot. Now I just need to learn how to design my own parts.

That looks stellar. Do they sell prints or just the File?

Thanks. They just sell the files from various creators. They do have a link to third-party print services though.
" If you don’t have a 3D printer, just send the STL or OBJ file directly to a 3D printing service (complete listing here)."

how do the files work can I start a library of files just to hopefully find a way to print them?

Sure, you download the .stl files that you eventually print. There are a lot of free files on Cults3D as well.
