M1A2 SEP V3 Abrams

I have finished the painting of the turret, today I have advanced enough, yes, as for your recommendation I will paint the trophy system, and the tank I will dirty it like the reference photos or at least try, I have painted the central part of the wheels with the clear smoke of ak real colors, but then I thought and said … why paint it if then it will be covered by pigments … in short … my intelligence is quicker than me in some cases of my life.

You paint them for the same reason you paint everything else, so that the base color showing through the pigments looks right. Otherwise, it would just seem off.

you’re right, those were my inner thoughts, but yes, you have to do it right, the comment before was my stupidity.

Inner thoughts are always there, and they are not stupid. They help you decide what is right for you.

P.S: it’s not Stabilo boss covert advertising, just kidding.

I use green for the parts that I will use, yellow for the ones that might need to be replaced and red for the ones to be replaced.

well guys, only the last details are missing, which are quite a lot, but it is necessary to detail it and then the glossy varnish will be applied, I decided to mount the active trophy, I like the green color, it makes a nice contrast regarding the aesthetics, what do you think? should I paint it in tan or green?

well guys, for today I’m done, tomorrow I have to touch up some details of the lower hull and finish repainting everything, today I finished the day with this

guys in the end I have decided that I will mount it without the trophy, basically because it only has the side systems but it lacks the other systems, hopefully another quality manufacturer will make the v3 with the complete trophy system.

The kit has a complete system. The A3 has incorporated the other parts inside the turret. The earlier picture is what was scabbed onto V2s to test the system.

Ver4y nice job with the color. What brand did you use for the base sand color? It looks a lot like the Tamiya Wooden Deck Tan I used on my Desert Storm M1A1 build…

On the V3, where’s the power/data feed to the Trophy pods? The pods in the Rye kit just attach to the sides of the turret with no obvious hook up.

thank you very much, in the abrams V2 tusk that I did before (I have it exposed in the forum) I used the ak third generation, personally I hated the paint, and in this RFM V3 I am using the carc tan from ATOM, good paints I have no complaint.

@systemic thanks to both of you, well guys… now I’m in a doubt, what do I do in the end? they gave me the plans and they said that the adjacent systems were missing but you say that there is no problem, what do I do? I don’t want to create discord but now I’m at a crossroads.

No idea where the power connectors are, but all the other boxes and conduits shown above are not present on the V3.

No discord, just a lack of information. Bottom line for me would be I’ve seen no photos yet of V3 with Trophy, although I don’t doubt they can be fitted with it and may well not have the same fittings as the V2 Trophy-equipped tanks. So I guess it comes down to whether you’re happy to build your model based on written evidence vs. photographic

@HeavyArty @systemic guys, thanks for your contributions, in the end I will do it without the trophy system, today I have already advanced in the last steps, missing small details such as antennas and small things, but then I’ll put that aside, tomorrow if all goes well I will begin to varnish in gloss, guys, before messing it up I will look here in the forum several techniques, (for those who saw the TUSK II, not the TUSK exposed here) I will mess up the V3 but relax, I will not get excited with the chipping, some guys already know what I mean.

Just keep the Trophy in a box until you find a photo eventually of the connectors and wiring.
