Hahaha we never used it! It just got in the way of things.
That could explain why photos of it in use seem impossible to find. We have a guy who would 3D print it, but it seems there’s no point.
Those pictures motivate me to build an IFOR M2A2 from that time.
This is the one I built for the Op Restore Hope timeline.
Is that a haystack in your last photo ?
yep, we where in the middle of a field that eventually became Camp Demi.
At one point in time that field was nothing more then knee deep mud because of all the trucks that came in drop off connexes for us to live in.
I noticed it seems to have been SOP to have your tow cables at the ready.
Great photos, thanks Scott !
So, did Ford make Bradleys?
I’ve never asked. I only know what you can read online - FMC developed the first ones. Now BAE Systems has the contract. Several years ago I noticed how much BAE was doing for the military, so I told my wife to purchase BAE stock for our steel anniversary. We hade done the same thing with Boeing for the aluminum anniversary. Bought Caterpillar for the silk anniversary but it never really went anywhere,
Sorry Rob…I guess I should’ve qualified what Ford is…Fix or Repair Daily, hence the need for ready access to the tow chains!
Ah, kind of like 90% of all Harleys ever built are still on the road. The other 10% managed to make it home.
There ya go!
You can see how having some spare A3 interiors helps.
That doesn’t look like a full M2A2 ODS SA. I think it is more of an updated M2A2 ODS. It doesn’t have the DVE, larger IBAS gunner’s sight, on the inside there are no video screens, and no hull and turret roof added armor plates. It looks more like another type of upgraded M2A2 ODS for export.
The M2A2 ODS SA is basically an M2A3 minus the CITV, still having all other A3 features, like below.
Here are ID features of A3 Bradleys. A3s have all of these features. M2A2 ODS SA have all but #1 (CITV) with a full-width turret basket across the back in its place.
- CITV, Commander’s Independent Thermal Viewer
- DVE, Driver’s Vision Enhancer, a camera that shows the driver what is in front of him and can be IR or visual. Projects the image on a screen in front of the driver.
- Larger, rounded front mud guards.
- One-piece lower front glacis
- Larger IBAS, Improved Bradley Armored Sight, without horizontal sun shade part.
M2A2 ODS SA.
Looks like I’ve misread the accompanying text (https://armyrecognition.com/news/army-news/2025/croatian-army-deploys-first-us-supplied-m2a2-bradley-fighting-vehicles-to-strengthen-its-mechanized-brigades )
“The vehicles delivered to Croatia are based on the baseline ODS model, which lacks certain features such as second-generation FLIR and the Driver’s Vision Enhancer included in the 300+ ODS-SA variants delivered to Ukraine.”
H.P.
We should probably add this:
Why yes. A few hundred in fact.
Magic Factory has announced a new M2A4 Bradley with CVTESS (Combat Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System, Army Laser Tag) the new MILES, interesting. The CVTESS update parts are 3D printed. Empty smoke grenade launchers as well. Magic Factory Facebook page says it will be out in April. It looks pretty nice. Another one to get.
Markings for two 3ID vehicles out of Ft Stewart, GA.
It also includes markings (or lack of) for the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) prototype that was tested at Ft Stewart as well. Not sure what new parts would need to be added to the exterior, but it looks like a standard M2A4 Bradley.
