M54A2 Gun Truck "Eve of Destruction" - Vietnam war era

Good afternoon.
I bought the M54A2 Gun Truck “Eve of Destruction” from AFV Club, but I’ve noticed that there are some errors/missing items, for example, where is the radio and antenna?
What tires did you use, military or civilian type? Where can I find the correct information to make the version with the double .50?
Thanks in advance
Best regards

This thread may help.

The AFV Club kit is not necessarily wrong. The truck changed many times throughout its use. Each crew changed it as they rotated in/out. It also changed as tactics changed. The above thread has pics of it in many different configurations.

As to a radio and antenna, I don’t see them in any of the pictures I posted in the above thread. Not all trucks had them.

In the David Doyle books I have the walk around pictures show the radio and antenna mounted in the front drivers side corner of the gun box. Gun Trucks and Squadron Signal Vietnam Gun Trucks detail in action, basically the same book by the same author. For some reason none of their gun truck kits include a radio, except for King Kong, and that’s because it is part of the APC kit parts. It’s strange because they include the antenna mounts. Wayne

My mistake , got big monkey confused with big snake! ha ha Alltho there was an APC gun truck named King Kong. Echelon makes the decals for it. Wayne

I see the M35 Conversion#2 come up on EBay once in a while, never seen #1 and only seen #3 once or twice. The Legend one is still around. Wayne
