I remember driving from work on I-35 near Haslet, TX not too long ago, when i saw a similar tank being trucked somewhere. Just like that one. An M60 slick painted in Olve Drab. That’s in really nice condition.

I know there’s good reasons why they moved on to the narrow-fronted A1 turret, but the “slick” just looks so cool…

Who makes M60 in 35th?
Dragon does/did one. It has some issues, but can look good with a bit of work.
There were also a couple conversions for an M60, but don’t know if they are still available. I think one was by Tiger Models Design (TMD) and one by Def Models.
If you really want one and can’t find the above kit and conversion sets, there is the Academy Magach 7C, which is an upgraded M60. You can see the M60 turret below. It would take some work and some swapped parts, but you could build an M60 from it.
It still includes most of the basic M60 parts like the cupola, grunt rails, and side-loading air filters as unused parts. You would need a new barrel, track, aluminum road wheels, and basket parts.
Alternately, you could use just the above turret parts and add them to an M60A1 hull and barrel, etc. That would probably be the easiest way to get an M60 from the above parts.
Then you could make a Magach 6 (M60A1) from the Academy kit and M60A1 turret parts.

Hi Dan,
I’m in the throes of utilising the DEF Models conversion kit; I haven’t that much left to do save the searchlight and a few other details really. It’s just stalled a bit while I tackle a minor health issue.

Another way to get a slick, AFV Club hull and the DEF turret.
I’ve also done it with the Academy Magach 7C kit, lots of work as Gino said, and once with a Tamiya hull (I think…) and an old CMD turret. I’ve got a Dragon Magach 6 kit that I bought for the ERA (don’t bother, about six good parts in the whole box) that has a pretty good turret but soft detail parts.
I was always hopeful Takom, Tamiya or even AFV Club would crank one out.

Look at those “crisp” turret details.
I removed the basket because converting it from the Tamiya kit was less than perfect. I never bothered to replace it. Like polishing a turd.
And the mantlet cover? Non existent. It only looks this good because I made it myself.
You know a kit sucks when you start taking parts off of it for other builds.
