I’ve got some photos like that, but I don’t seem to have scanned them. (My parents on their only American holiday over twenty years ago came across wrecks like these — or possibly the same ones — and knowing my interests, took some photos of them.) Now where did I leave them …?
A long time ago when I used to be a long haul truck driver, I used to stop there almost every time I went by. There were a number of retired USMC M60A1s sitting there. If I remember correctly, they did have a runner. I also want to say that they also had an M47 Patton. My memory is a bit fuzzy as the last time I was there it was the mid to late 90s, and these days my memory is only good for 24hrs. I had pictures too, but over the years, I lost them.

Note the same pattern for the MERDC Grey Desert camo on both of these vehicles.
Very cool. Been huntin old ESCI/Italeri M60s on eBay for a while, now.
Harder to find now.Get the odd one at shows here in U.k.Can still get the Italeri m60a3 kit fairly easy.

I like the schemes.Look painted on some of the tanks.
Yeah. M60s are pretty cool because they were around for a lot of different US camouflage systems, plus a bunch more in service with other countries. Hoping to build one or two M60s this year.
I hand painted the MERDC Winter Verdant camouflage on my M60A3 TTS.
And MERDC Red Desert on an M151A2 TOW Carrier.
It was iuntimidating at first, but they both came out great. Still working on finishing the MERDC Summer Verdant on an LVTP-7.
That will be great.Be nice to have some m60s built.
Lovely.Done a great job.The M151 is particularly eyecatching in the desert scheme.I seem to recall Francois Verlinden doing similar with his models in his books.Off the top of my head i recall an m151 and even a Sgt York in what if MERDC.These schemes really make models pop in my view.

I did not grow up in a military family or near any bases. So the opportunities to see Army vehicles were rare. But when I did, they were almost always in some form of MERDC. I have a great fondness for those paint schemes. Great job!
That TOW jeep looks excellent
