so I’m in Hobbycraft stocking up on supplies and get my usual yellow tamiya masking tape but now I see they have white and blue colored tape, so what’s the difference?

I have blue and white, but they are different widths am I too obvious though?

I thought it might be due to thickness or adhesive texture?

Yeah, I’m thinking it’s just to distinguish the different widths

The white Tamiya tape is made from vinyl and more flexible for compound curves. It also comes in various widths like the standard stuff. I haven’t seen the blue stuff yet.

As Carlos mentions the white is for doing curves and made of vinyl. I’ve also not seen Tamiya blue tape.

A look at Tamiya’s website show Yellow and White tapes only, NO Blue!

Hobbycraft sell their own brand tape which is blue

I know with the normal masking tape the purple is usually the low tac so maybe that’s what the colors mean.

I tend to use Frog Tape brand masking tape; I cut to fit. No paint bleed-out.
