The scissor-type bridge is a modified version of the JABS (Joint Assault Bridge System) developed by Leonardo DRS and the Israeli Military Industries for the M1A2. The original setup did not meet the requirements of the Philippine Army as they wanted a longer span (18m vs the original 11m) on a diesel-powered platform.
