i was wondering if MIG Productions are still in the game as you don’t see much of their stuff in the UK.
i came across this figure i have been looking for for quite a while at the AK Interactive Museum and snapped him up.

MIG Productions is an AK Interactive brand, so yes, it is still active. Some MIG Productions items are being re-branded, but I’m not sure about the model kit line.
MIG Productions of course no longer has anything to do with Mig Jimenez, who owns Ammo by MIG.
did Mig Jimenez lose his wife to cancer? i thought he was out of the model world completely, i didn’t know he owns Ammo.
Yes, I believe he did lose his wife.
Mig never left the modelling world; and of course that is why it is called Ammo by Mig. Ammo is located about 1/2 hour from AK; they don’t have a store or anything, but you can go there to purchase things right out of their warehouse.
As I recall that was true that he did lose his wife. I also recall reading about Mig management having issue with Mig. Hence the new company Ammo by Mig.
oh, i didn’t know there was a fall out with the managers, thanks for the info.
I do believe that I remember postings about that ruckus in the Kitmaker forums.
I could be imagining things …
i guess i missed all the fun
“Fun” might be a slight exaggeration,
I would settle for “interesting”
so is the figure i posted a picture at the start of this thread still in production with MIG or has AK Interactive taken over production or has it simply been discontinued, and i just got lucky?
Are Ammo and AK related in any way, or are they two separate entities?
They are separate but Mig worked at both.
The “fun” was on a few forums for a little bit and most had posts removed as it became like usual a flag pole contest and tribe mindset. The usual modeling internet drama mostly fought by fanboys with no direct knowledge, if you imagine such a thing happening.
Not sure but I think you got lucky. The old adage of get it while you can was wisely followed.
there was a small pile of figures on the desk and i saw that one on it’s own. i was wow i thought they stopped making those and i was trying to get one years ago. then that old saying about grab it while you see it csme to mind and…yoink it’s mine now!
That reminds me; I’ve often zealously hunted down rare and hard-to-get figures, manage to get some and then forget whatever project I wanted them for!
Again, you need to keep the two entities separate; Ammo by Mig and AK Interactive are completely separate, unrelated companies. MIG Productions is an AK Interactive brand and is a carryover from when the company was called MIG Productions and owned by MIG and the present owner of AK. MIG Productions products are still in production at AK, although how much, I can’t say.
Ammo by Mig was started by Mig later (after AK Interactive), and is owned by Mig Jimenez. They do not produce MIG Productions products.
I have had the issue in the past. Now I have list of parts needed and why/the plan at that time. It’s all subject to change as needed.
