I have some good and some bad (for some) news. The good news: I’m going to be returning to work on February 12. I’ve been cleared by my doctor and everything is set.
Unfortunately that leads into the bad news. Doing this 3D printing takes a ton of time. Time that a full-time job and recent personal relationships (and other hobbies) don’t allow me to have. Because of that, I’ve made the tough decision to stop 3D printing after I go back to work. Come February 2, I intend to stop taking new orders for the majority of the products I sell. All orders placed by 2/2 will be finished and that will be that. After that, I intend to keep selling the comms gear (radios, AN/VIC, SINCGARS) and a few of the more popular items, at least for a little bit. I will upload all of my files to Cults3D where I’ll sell from there. That does mean that you’ll have to print them yourself or have someone else print them for you but it will allow me to keep providing them to the modeling community. It will also allow me to have more time to work on CAD projects which I fully intend to keep doing for the foreseeable future. I can take the CAD work with me and do it from almost anywhere, something I can’t do with the 3D printers.
It’s a tough decision that I’ve mulled over for the past couple of weeks but it’s something that needs to be done so I can do everything that I need to do. I will still hold on to at least one of my printers so I can still print things if needed.
