Wolverines!!
Sorry, couldn’t resist.

God bless him! Sure walks a lot better than I do.
Moral in Vietnam was non existent because every kid knew exactly when they couldn’t keep him any longer. Then you might get a drop and be home as much as a month sooner. Cadre was a joke on a good day, because 60% of them were only there to get their ticket punched. Yet the other 40% had to make up for the majority’s short falls. Even worse in the Officer’s ranks as everybody was seeking that one combat command to put him over the top. When you did get a good one, everybody else in the battalion was stabbing him in the back to get that long sought after command. Infantry was different (actually the opposite) because of the life expectancy line of crap. You poorly trained and then just dumped him out in the middle of nowhere while you slept on that dry warm mattress. That’s OK, because i’m warm and dry.
You always knew that the medic was there for you, but that was false. Most would be there, but there was that segment that never responded. Chaplins never showed their face out there, cause they ain’t stupid.
You take them all, and divide them into trigger pullers, and support folks. In most cases the last haven’t got the time to deal with that kid out west. Can’t say enough good things about the hospital folks. The rest were just in the way
What was it 40% or was it 45% of the ranks were drafted. They didn’t want to be there, but you made them be there. I was drafted, and really didn’t care all that much either way. The U.S. bunch kinda had a slight distrust for the RA bunch. If you were a lifer, then these two also distrusted you. It was twice as bad when you rolled thru the rear. Beer halls, movies, USO shows (just what is a USO show anyway?), decient food, dry clothes, and no ring worm. But at least they could get drunk and not live in fear.
yes to say moral was bad is not really all the close, as it was worse. Been a good place for shrinks to be trained.

Enough humor - back to Modeling ! (said in my best drill sargent voice)…
Apparently Slovakia is sending their whole S300 inventory to the Ukraine:
Which is nice of them and nice for the UDF. I think those will provide cover for about 1/4 of the country?
There are scale models of those big boys ?
New owners

Not the trailer-mounted version. There is a truck-mounted and a tracked version from Trumpeter; both in 1/35.
Please explain to me the rationale behind blue camo? The US Navy also seems to feel it is a necessity.
Apparently Hobby Boss does a trailer-mounted version. It looks different from what is on the train in the above pic though.
