Modelling armour in Ukraine crisis

Okay, that is definitely a horror movie preview. Total nightmare fuel.

There was an old Twilight Zone episode where a tiny flying saucer terrorizes an old bat in her farm house. Only it didn’t detonate near her head.

I got this leopard for cheap at my club, I want to do it as ukrainian (I know I got a bunch of ukrainian leos and I plan to get more, stash isn’t big enough yet)

Do we have pics of leopard 2A5 in use by ukraine or not?
Thanks for your answers!

Ukraine didn’t get an A5. A4 or A6 only.

there are article talking about 2A, I can still do it as a “what if denmark sended 2A5 too” I think since I’m also going for a “what if the netherland sended some of their 2A6 to ukraine” using my revell kit and decals from other kits.

The only ‘‘2A5’’ version you’ll see is the heavily upgraded Swedish Strv122. There isn’t much to show since they’re just equipped with the Barracuda camo. That’s about it, nothing really unique to model really…

I never have enough ukrainian leos in my stash tho and I can still do what if ukraine got more from other countries as well. I do wonder how one would do this kind of camo tho, the weathering I already have my ideas with a mix of paint and dirt.

We finally got more footage of the Leopard 1A5s after so long, the thing has more ERA than a T-64:

They probably have as much armor as a T55.

IIRC,

The initial front glacis plate thickness on a Leopard 1 is 70mm, thinner than a WW2 era Panther or even a Pz IV H. The quality is probably better etc but that’s still thin.

The turrets got armor upgrades over the years etc but I’d want a lot of ERA on my Leo I too!

And depending on the ERA, some will be only effective on shaped charge weapons.

Thats OK because shaped charges and drones are the major threat. Tank on tank they probably can hold their own at some of the shorter ranges.

Cool.

Interesting. They have completely removed the stowage baskets.
