And the average person who doesn’t know anything about military equipment just falls for it, blindly accepting it as the truth. The power of propaganda on the masses.
Isn’t it always like that?
The uneducated falls for the lies, regardless of subject…
Working on a little vignette/diorama. Archer Fine Transfer just came out with UA and Russian flags I have on order. I am thinking a little flag pole set up with a wooden/Tonka toy tractor on the landscape. Haven’t made up my mind on painting it wood or UA colors.
The figure on the left is 1/24 and the right is 1/35 for a scale reference.
One needs to deduce events based upon other factors. This “non invasion” is into its fifth week. Kyiv has not yet fallen. 2+2 does indeed equal four sometimes.
Turning back to modeling:
I know few people working on dio’s w/ Russian figures, Robert doing his Z army, etc…
Anyone tried to paint this style camo? Extremely fine pattern to replicate.
Decal maybe?

Make up sponge.
And yes, Live-Resin does several different styles of decals, but as you can see from photos I’ve added on my “Army of Z” thread, the folds in the clothing are quite overdone on some of their figures. Decals would be tough for many of them.
And now…The AA tractor !
H.P.
from what i have just read, the commander who was run over by one of his own troops with a tank has died. i wonder how many more ‘fraggings’ have taken place.
We will most likely never know.
The guys who got fragged can’t talk, those who did it will not talk …
I did in a build log back in the old site. I think it was called ‘From Russia With Love?’ Basically I painted the base green then used the ‘spackling’ method to create fine dots which is how the pattern kind of appears when viewed with a little distance. I kept the paint to a consistency on the brush that produced small dots when rubbing it off the edge of a piece of plastic. It worked fairly well.
Back on the old site I did three Bundeswehr figures wearing their desert color flecktarn- I used decals and it was, as @18bravo has mentioned about decals, quite tough. They were one plastic and two resin figures- it took ages as well, twice as long as painting. They looked decent but it is tricky.
we all have little rules in the back of our heads. Mine were kinda silly, but events left an impression on my mind.
- don’t throw my body in the pile in the back of a truck
- make sure I got my boots on
- For the rest; don’t loose any sleep over me

my second wife was one of them for about three or four agonizing years. Then she got shunned, and went off in another direction. They’re really not bad people, but also a little on the strange side. They do party, but in their own little world. I had an older lady ask me about my military experiences when she was giving my wife some cooking lessons (#2 couldn’t boil water). Told her I felt it was a test from God himself. I then told her in actually increased my love for my fellow man, and also taught me to treat people as I wanted to be treated. Then she asked me the question (they all will sooner or later in life)! Did I ever kill anybody. I didn’t answer and she put the question on the table again. On the third time I told her many times, and it’s not fun. I then told her I felt that if you count bodies; you committed murder. No kid needs to ever be put in that position to make and live with that decision. My wife never asked me this, but always suspected it. The lady started crying, and I actually felt bad for answering her question. She told me as she left that she was going to pray for me. Sorta made me feel good knowing that. My oldest daughter knows exactly how many and when, and my three sons know. Nobody else knows but my old First Sargent. Still a couple close friend have a good idea, but we will never discuss the matter.
With that religious sect in mind, I have to give them their just do. They’ll never grow up in six weeks, or age forty years in twelve months. Have nothing against them, but rather not be close to them.

I actually think (now) that I was in his presence in 1968. I’ve had buddies three feet from me hit hard and I never got a scratch. I’ve been in probes that looked like both side were going to bite the dust; when it suddenly went silent/ The sun rolled thru the smoke and I felt warm and dry. Looking back it was as if an Angel had his hand on my back. If you don’t know your maker, you’ll know him at two in the morning in the bush.

nothing new, but Ivan may be a little slow in the learning curve. You keep spitting out orders that lead to committing suicide, and you eventually end up as a victim yourself. Nothing is new under the sun (King Solomon), and this has been in the works for a thousand years.
If Biden was smart (?). He’d send two or three C5’s or C17’s over near the Polish border. Load them to the gills with nice clean filled body bags. Then fly them to St. Petersberg and hand them over to the civillian population to be returned to their next of kin. The news would go like wildfire! Next delivery would be in Vladivostok with even greater results. Heads would roll in the middle of the night

what they really need is some of those radar guided 57mm AA guns. They’re beyond deadly!

The 57 mm and 40 mm we make here in peaceful neutral Sweden?
With the 3P ammunition?
Another great bunch of references @Frenchy. I was wondering if there were any Shilka’s about!
@Frenchy excellent work as always.
according to this news report, Ukraine now has more tanks now than at the start of the war.
I was wondering when one of those would turn up. If they had a few of those at Hostomel airport, I seriously doubt that the VDV would have been able to even get on the ground there.
