Is that in Phoenix? Looked like it would be a decent show on the IPMS webpage.

Congratulations, on the awards!

Would’ve loved to go just to see the entries, not too far a drive from Tucson.

Yes, it is in Phoenix it’s about a 35–40 minute drive from where I live in Scottsdale.

here are the models I got awards for in juniors afv and dioramas. I think that is what the categories were.
the top is a Tamiya m48a3 with tarps from stash and the rest is from the kit itself

this one is a “What If” dio and it is a knocked-out E-100 with a schwimmwagen on the side.

I was expecting not a lot of people but there turned out to be probably more than 400 entries. There were also vendors. I got an Afv club magach 6b for 40 bucks and the original price was 60 so a good deal! I also won in their raffle they had got a mirage 5j in 1/32 scale from 1975 Revell and got a free f-117A nighthawk from someone.

Congratulations. The diorama looks an interesting concept. The M48A3 is one of my favorite Tamiya kits.

Ya, the m48a3 kit is a super simple build yet still gives the detail. Tamiya always does good. I have never had a bad Tamiya kit.

I went. No luck with entries but I did get some good finds with the vendors.

What did you enter?

I entered most of my recent 1/35 armor completions… Hobbyboss RSOV, Tamiya TOW jeep, Academy FISTV, Italeri LAV-AD, and Italeri Panther A. There was some seriously good models and tough competition entered all around.
Congrats on your awards!

Did you see the Berge Panther on 120mm scale. It was cool, everything was scratch built except the hull and roadwheels.

Yes, I do vaguely remember seeing that build. There was so many builds to be seen.

Wanted to go but was vending at the Model Swap Meet in San Diego on the same day. :unamused:

How did that go?

For me, only fair. There was a good turnout, but I sold more books/magazines and DVDs than models. The show in June, in conjunction with the local IPMS show is much better for model sales.

The next one is in November for their 2025 show here in Arizona.
