My M60A3 TTS “Frankentank” build

One of the things you can tweak is the holes on the drive sprockets.

The Tamiya and Academy kits do not have the mud holes, so you will have to drill them out. @Petition2God makes a 3D printed part with the correct holes.

You will also need to add glad to the Gunner’s Sight asembly.

The lenses has to be split into two sections, especially on the M60A3 TTS; left side will be the thermal night sight, while the right side is the optical day sight. i used the decals sold by AFV Club; or you can go to any party supply store and get the translucent mylar wrapping and use that.

Another little detail is the lifting eyes on the Commander’s Cupola; the Tamiya and Academy kits did not add this; and i did not do it on this build, but I did it on my USMC M60A1 ERA build. I harvested the lifting eyes from my spares box, and can be done with some brass wire.

Ok thank you. I recall something with the height- being a bit high. I assumed the keyed road wheel arms make lowering a PITA?

I’ve always known that it is the Tamiya M48A3 that sits higher than normal, because the tank that Tamiya used for reference did not have an engine on it, therefore it sat higher than normal.

Ah yes, recall that now.

I now wished I had hand painted my M-60s. I think they would have looked alot better than the airbrushed version. You did a great job with yours.
