Very cool. No need to scratch an interior for the M577 again. Guess the Tamiya M577s will be cheap now. Anybody want to buy a couple?

I was just starting to think about grafting a Tamiya top onto an AFV Club M113 to make an M577…
And now this gets announced! As if they were mind reading!
The “stuff” and figures will com in handy anyhow!
Are the Takom M113 anyhow related to the AFV Club M113s? And when will these babies be available in stores?

@Pawel My guess for the M113 is they rescaled the 1/16 one they did for Andy down to 1/35 scale. The included figure is identical to the one they offer with the 1/16 version.

Was the M577A1 used during Operation Desert Storm, by any chance? Trying to decide what I want on the trailer of my M911 C-HET.

Yes, M577s were used starting in Vietnam as a standard M577 then progressed through M577A1, M577A2 and M577A3 and are still in use today as the M1068A3. The versions used during ODS were mostly M577A2s and M577A3s. There were probably a few M577A1s still around in National Guard units.

So now we will have 1/35 M113s by Tamiya, Academy, Dragon, AFV Club, Italeri/Revell Germany, and finally Takom… but only Tamiya and Takom will make the M577. 
But with the basic hull, I wonder what other variants they might be planning… 
And I do foresee the secondhand Tamiya M577 market being flooded real soon…
