New M939 Series kit!

It is simple on the new forum. Just save them to your selected file or desktop. Open the reply box, then drag and drop them in. That’s it.

No need for external provider like Imgur?

Not any more. The new forum hosts them now.

It was only a Plan B option H.H. it’s up to you of course…

I ve got the pe Set anyway… It s still usable in Some parts… Def wheels fit fine…

Hans-Hermann, how is your progress with the frame? I had some trouble to adjust the drive shafts with the axels. Any recommendation?

No Sir. I haltet the project for a while. Life has thrown some more important things at me.

No problem, thanks.
Indeed, there are more important things. Hopefully positive reasons.

I just got mine in the mail yesterday. On initial look, it looks really nice. I may try removing the cab top soon. I’ll keep you posted.

I appreciate your try! So I can try it on my second kit.

Why do all of you try to remove the canvas? It s really awesome replication…
.

Some want the canvas up and some want it down.
If the builder wants to use the included gun ring and show someone standing up using the gun it will be tricky if the canvas cab roof is in the way …

Windscreen up, no gunner

Windscreen down, gunner standing up

It can also be seen like this

Gun ring, canvas roof and windscreen up.

By making the rear wall and parts of the canvas as one piece they placed an unnecessary restriction on the model builder. Can be solved with a little bit of work.

We already talked about the hydraulic tank for the winch. I’m right If I leave off part “A54” in the cabin, because these two levers controlls operate the winch?

You are correct. Leave off A54 and fill its attachment slots. Hopefully this is more evidence that Trumpeter will also release an M925 (w/winch) version.

Gino, thanks for your confirmation. It could really be that Trumpeter releases the M925.

I dare to object here. To me it seems that ILK mixed up several references. As a matter of fact, the kit is not A2 but A1. ILK missed the valves/covers for the CTIS system.

The CTIS has nothing to do with the A2 designation. The A2 refers to later production versions with Cummins 6CTA8.3 engines. Any of the type can have the CTIS.

I’m not sure about that Gino…According to TM-55-2320-272-14-1, “The M939-series trucks have tandem axles with dual tires. The M939A1 and M939A2-series trucks have tandem axles with single radial tires. The M939A2-series trucks also have a central tire inflation system (CTIS). Each truck series is easily identified by the tires and CTIS.”

I guess there is conflicting data out there. From maintenance TMs for the trucks, not transport TMs, when I had them assigned to my battery, it was only the engines that separated them. M923A2s could have CTIS, or may not have. The CTIS was not what made it an A2. Granted, most CTIS were on A2s though.
