Pretty sure that PayPal likes to get a little sumpthin’ sumpthin’ too.
Switched my Patreon to sub. happy to support.
OK - took the plunge and shifted to Stripe. (Turns out they also do my IPMS UK membership, so my data’s already in their hands…)
My apologies Mike. Something went wrong when I added you to the Patrons group manually so it wasn’t showing you as still a member. I have fixed that now though. Hopefully you were still getting the perks but just not showing the avatar flair thing.
You can send a cash contribution via mail but I don’t really have an automated system for cash situations so if you can do it via the prepaid credit card option that someone mentioned above that would do both and get you access to the subscribers group. If you still want to send a cash donation I can message you the mailing address.
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks everyone who has subscribed thus far! I really appreciate the feedback and support!
Jim
Well, look at this ma…super duper customer service! Thanks Jim.
Can I have a € sign instead of the $ ? So that I can piss off both UK and US
Just kidding…
!oh, bad boy…lol
I guess, that was me, Tom …
That’s why I pay also the fee from my bank account for the exchange from € to $, Mike, so the whole donation goes to Kitmaker. Have no problem with it …
I cancelled Patreon and signed up for Stripe - now I’m hit with vendor-preference pop-ups and banner ads including one from Patreon saying I can surf ad-free if I rejoin. Sounds like the switch isn’t as simple or beneficial as we first thought…
I think I fixed this. My apologies if anyone else was seeing ads too. I was sure I added the right group for the new supporters feature to the ‘no ads’ feature but it was not there when I just now rechecked. It’s back now though so hopefully all is good.
Jim
As others have said I would be happy to subscribe if PayPal was an option. I don’t give out my Credit card details at all anymore after having been skimmed a while back.
You can donate via PayPal. You just can’t create a ‘subscriber’ type relationship with this forum as the developers of this software chose Stripe over PayPal for this feature.
There is nothing ‘iffy’ about Stripe though. They are just as highly regarded as PayPal for payment processing.
Wow, seeing all of these red dollar signs is like finding relatives you never knew you had.
Only if they’re rich ones offering money!
I am glad to see patreon go. They were really greedy also at my end. They add a few USD in fees and then Danish VAT of 25% on top which I doubt is actually paid to Denmark. So never wanted to join.
I am sorry for some basic questions here:
The red star is a sign of subscription support to the site?
Other benefits than going add free?
I guess one of the benefits is that the site is kept up ‘n’ runnin’ with upgrades if needed.
Must say I prefer the star over the earlier dollar sign! The dollar looked too crassly money-fixated…
