New to the forum, hello

Hello there,

I am an Indonesian student studying in Perth, Australia and I am quite a beginner to modeling. I saw my little brother and dad buy a Tamiya model kit of a WW2 Soviet tank in Osaka and built it in Jakarta, and I kinda wanna try my hand at this modeling thing.

I come from a LEGO specific background in building toys, which felt like a big leap to go from LEGO to model kits

My main limitations are my ADHD and also my current skill set for modeling. I am not a great modeler on my first attempt recently

I signed up for this forum to meet new people and also find advice and help, so please help point me to the good directions, don’t get mad if I ask the same repeated questions, as I do have a lot of questions

Welcome. Lots of good folks here willing to share their knowledge and experience. Many veterans who have first hand knowledge of the vehicles on which served. Ask questions and you will get useful answers. Show your work and you will get valuable honest feedback to help you improve if you so desire. Most importantly have fun and enjoy the hobby your way.

Hi, welcome to the site!

No one can make a masterpiece, often not even decent, on his first model… It’s a matter of practice and improving one after another. Reading, asking, seeing videos are all good for learning but you must apply it.

Even the most experienced modeler had to start someplace. It’s a learning experience and takes time, so don’t get discouraged.

The Tamiya M-41 is an excellent kit to start on. Easy to assemble and a single color paint scheme. Good luck.

Kalau itu yg pertama, itu kerja yg baik!

If that’s your first kit then thats a good effort! Next step is to consider painting it but that may be harder depending on what you have available.

Looking good so far bud! As everyone has said before, take your time, dry fit before glueing, and enjoy the hobby, (and mistakes), because that is the learning curve. Most of my lessons were from mistakes! :rofl: and binge YouTube videos if you can. Tons of visual step by step guides on there! Happy modeling buddy!
