This may be a rebox of some other companies Leopard. AFAIK Tamiya kits have a prefix of 35xxx. This kit has a 25xxx.
I agree on suffix, however scalemates links it Tamiya’s 2003 2A6 kit.
I guess we will see either way soon.
Kinda lame to me. show it fielded before you just start making marking for it. hell just throw that in the Abrams, Bradley and challenger kits while your at it.
Or just go on Ebay and find the same decals already available.
They might not even use that way of marking them.
I agree. Wait until the Ukrainian crews have added their personal touches.
I’m sure that Echelon will take care of the specialist markings.
They also use that series for their own kits with enhancements, such as the A6M2 with special Pearl Harbor attack markings, tanks that included Aber PE or barrels, or the kits that combined a Tamiya item with ICM figures. Fundamentally though the primarily item is from Tamiya.

Ahh. Was not aware of that. Thanks.
Never mind the fact that it is the wrong Leopard 2 version.
To my knowledge, no one has given them 2A6s…everything that they have gotten thus far are 2A4s
I think there was talk of giving them 14 of the 6’s.
Yes, Germany is donating 14 Leopard 2A6’s.
The 2003 Tamiya kit depicts the 2A6 as configured back then. Since then all 2A6 in German service have been updated. Most notable external different is different smoke grenade launchers all arranged on a single rail.
I agree also. To me, it looks like a lazy Dragon, Italeri-like (re)release. Just add a new decal to a 20-year old kit and hit them with a lot of marketing.
Apparently, they hit the shelves in Japan already:

Going to wait for some “open box” reviews.
18, plus 2 BPz Büffel …
Pictures already in the “Ukraine War” thread.
Just picked up the RFM Leopard A6, but have to wait till easter for pics.
I have the Tamiya Leo 2A6 in the stash. When it came out, it was all rave reviews so even today it is probably a good kit with some indy track and some PE. If you want a kit without the 900 pieces this is still a good go to. Is there a more detailed kit out there, sure there is but if you want a Tamiya level kit, well here you are.
If you want a highly detailed 2A6? Go with Ryefield. If you want a fun build with good details, then Tamiya is you go to.
This is a Tamiya A6. I have zero complaints and I would say it has no issue at all. I just bought the RFM. But I did because it was $25 cheaper than the Tamiya one from Sprue B when I bought it last weekend. I was just drawn to it with some opening poses possible with it.
I dont get it until Easter. but I think it might run some laps around the Tamiya, maybe.
Buy the Tamiya PE basket set for it though.
