NOT a tank destroyer campaign

This is as far as I got. I’ll finish it in the next month or so. There isn’t that much to do, but I don’t have much time right now.

Shame, it is close to being complete … you did a great job with it though.

It’s a nice kit. And thanks to @petbat for suggesting that the tracks in the kit are good. They really are easy to work with and I didn’t need after market.

You are welcome Phil. Can you extend the deadline for a month? Jesper was asking for that and you obviously could use it.

It would give me time to do the stowage on the Land Rover, however as it now stands, I can call it complete for the build with minutes to spare!

Yes, I’m happy to extend it. I thought i was the only one that needed time. I missed Jesper’s request! I should be able to finish in a month.

It is made from an old Tamiya nylon mesh from the spares box, John. Some of Tamiya’s older kits had this for grills and for stowage baskets. This one was probably their Challenger 1 kit, as I used brass mesh for that. I cut it to rough shape keeping it sideways to create the diamond type mesh. Then I used cyano to glue the bottom to the frame then the sides. I used scissor to trim around the top, so just enough was left to be curled around and tucked under the top frame.

Thanks, Phil. An extra month should work :+1:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

Sure. I’m sorry I missed your original request. I was not ignoring you, I just didn’t register your request in my brain…

Painting getting underway. I am going to try a very complex scheme. Sort of a woodland style camo. I only have some screen shots from a twitter video and some badly lid pictures from a hall somewhere.
It seems to be four colors. The (original?) Czech army green, a red brown, and a forest green. On top some light sand “leaves”. It will be interesting. :slightly_smiling_face:

I will try to pull it of :slightly_smiling_face:

First coat is on - almost took a full brand jar :slightly_smiling_face: This is a big beast.

Turret is put together for the first time. What a beauty! The design looks awesome!

More to follow soon :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks, Johnny. A bit more progress on the camouflage. Next all the sand colored leaves/straws.

More progress on the camo. Detail painting in progress, then some weathering.

Thanks, Johnny. I believe it is only one vehicle with that camo. All I have are some stills from a low grade video and some dark pictures from a warehouse. It will have to do. I think the Ukrainians in some way have been inspired by woodland camo, but made it in a unique pattern.

I have tried to match the scheme pattern on the Dana picture for picture. :slightly_smiling_face:

Not much to look at but some progress. The main body was painted Deep Sea blue from Scale75. With the black primer I can barely tell.

I am calling this one done. I plan to include it in a diorama, so might add more weathering later, But for now it is done.

I tried to match the camo of the vehicle below. Not the best pictures, but very unique and interesting camouflage.

Thanks for the extension! :raised_hands:t2::+1:t2::sunglasses:
