Thanks man! And thanks for breaking radio silence!
J
Thanks buddy,glad you liked it.

Jerry, dynamic and exceedingly well modelled as ever; just one small, even miniscule thing: I wonder about a weapon sling? That’s not to carp for the sake of it - nor to add to your workload I assure you.
Brilliant work with the figures and the painting is incredible
Thanks man. I had planned to add a sling but I was so excited about this fig for some reason I took some pics before finishing it.
That turned out to be a mistake across the board. Pretty much an interweb bomb for this one.
J
Thanks for the kind words man!
J
I’m not quite sure what an Interweb bomb is; in any case, the figure is fine Jerry! I love the expression; there’s just a hint of almost doubt that the rest of the section just might not follow (which is pretty unlikely for the Waffen SS I grant you).
Keep it up.
That is brilliantly painted. The face is superb
Thanks buddy. I was referencing what happened when I posted this elsewhere. My stuff is usually mildly well received there but this one kinda bombed.
Thanks for noting the little details though,I appreciate it man!
J
Thanks John, very kind,
J
I wanted to include a really youthful looking 'HJ" So I began with a torso from the Dragon “Hohenstaufen” kit along with the legs. But I cut the tall boots off and replaced them with Dragon low boots and gaiters. To make him look younger like a lot of pics from that time I needed baggy cloths.
The Youthful Hornet head goes a long way in the subtraction of years. I began building up the trousers. Most scale figs don’t show enough volume in the trousers.
After getting most done with the leg area I began the smock. Once again,
oversized to portray a small person.
I like the way you’ve done that Jerry- coming along very nicely.
Thanks Karl for the encouragement,
J
You are really Ruckin Over, Jerry, beauty!
Thank you Sir!

Hi Jerry, I’m a long time lurker and great admirer of your outstanding work. Since your results are so extraordinary, I’d like to ask you a pertinent question from another thread -
What brand of brushes do you use?
Thanks for the kudos man!
To be honest I haunt some local craft/hobby/art stores and find the ones on sale. All kinds of different brands. They don’t last long even though I take good care of them. The point is the key and the point, of course, is the weakest part of the brush. For details I use all fine point brushes. For things like eyes, etc I use a thinner, longer brush and for dots, etc I use a pointy short brush.
Hopefully this answers your query?
J
Yes Jerry, thanks for that. I just thought that a pro like you would have a brand of brush that you swore by.
Nope, usually low tech for me, all the way,
J
