The gloves are very close to the ones I was always issued when I was in. Only mine were black. I wore them a lot in the winter with the wool OD liners and in summer without liners.

I know those. Yes, very similar. I think they’re designated D3-A
I was issued some buff colored gloves like those in the photo. The only times that we really used them was for rappelling.
Alrighty then here we go. This should clear things up.

Superb – living, breathing shallow & listening
Thanks Laddie!
Cautiously moving looking left and right straining his ears to hear another “clicker”…
Brilliantly done Jerry🙂
Dude’s got that Garand balanced so righteous in his left hand. Your mini-dudes always have righteous balance, always.
Beautiful piece there Jerry- a finely observed pose that, as always with your work, perfectly suits the face and the setting. The camo face paint is also a nice touch.
I was issued both sets of gloves with liners too - the white/beige ones we used for laying concertina wire.
Outstanding job on that para Jerry! Love the chin strap detail !
Yep! 'Zacktly !
Thanks man,
J
Thank you Sir!
I always keep the actual experience in mind or at least I try to,
J
Thanks Karl as always,nicely written.
I had a hard time after painting the tiny face to then apply the cammo on it and so obliterate most of what I just painted but hey…it is what it is.
J
Thank you Sir! I think I saw the white ones in the Clothing Sales store a few times. Were they thicker?
J
Jerry, that looks great. I’ve tried several times to produce a face with cammo paint, and have never been happy with the results. Did you use dry pigments? Ralph
I did it once on a bust where there is more room to work but it also means adding more paint. I found it very tricky to judge what looked realistic. I think you’ve got the look right- as in the viewer will grasp that it’s camo face paint as soon as they see it as opposed to thinking it is some shadowing gone very wrong!
The ones I had were, maybe they were the type specifically made for that task. I could be confusing the two, they were very similar.
Yes they were. Far more durable than the black gloves.
Thanks man. Nope,I used valajo paints, dark green and gray.
a very fine balance is needed for sure.
